Alex Caire: I had one of these for about 10 years before I left it somewhere and lost it. Immediately bought this new one to replace it. These work great and last a long time with heavy use.

John Pawlowski: I commute to downtown Chicago every day which will sometimes involve walking through cruddy weather between the office and train station. This umbrella is the perfect size to collapse into my backpack and keep in there as an ongoing permanent precaution. It's constructed well enough to vent most wind through, although when the really heavy gusts come and I'm not angled correctly, the undercarriage system is designed to allow the umbrella to "flip" and then flip back without any permanent damage to the structure. Of course, with the pros listed here concerning its size, the resulting con is that there's only so much surface area this umbrella can protect. In heavy rain, I get soaked from the knees down since it's just not big enough. However, for me that's an acceptable trade-off as compact size and durability are my chief concerns for how I use it.

jamienyc: Love this umbrella! Stays in my messenger bag until those rainy days come, and then I'm always glad to have it.

Pops open at the push of a button, and collapses the same way too. Makes it real easy to walk into a shop, without getting soaked outside trying to collapse your umbrella.

Only downside is that it does tend to invert in heavy winds. Easy enough to flip back, and doesn't seem to damage it at all. Would definitly buy again if I ever loose this one!

Elizabeth: I love how compact this umbrella is. I work in downtown Chicago and the size is wonderful. It fits in my work bag and is light weight. With that said, light weight does not mean it is flimsy. It is quite sturdy for normal to semi heavy rain storms especially if you are going between work and train/bus stations. If you are purchasing this to walk significantly through torrential rain storms you should reconsider and get a larger golf umbrella which are built to endure that kind of thrashing.

To note I am only 5 feet so this covers me quite well. If you are taller the 5'5 it make get you a bit wet since the radius of the umbrella isn't massive.
