Ki: The book itself wasn’t made with the same material as the others I have from her. It wasn’t as durable...kind of cheap feeling, actually. The poetry is okay, but not her best in my opinion. It kind of felt like she put this out because she felt like she had to.

Jazmine: Not as good as her earlier work but still really good. A lot better than "Love looks pretty on you", really disliked the direction she went with that one but I'm glad shes back to her usual style.

This is not a breakup book. Instead, Leav cuts ties with society, and in isolation she looks inwards. While her other books have focused on love and loss, this collection focuses on herself and her own identity. She analyses herself and takes an introspective look at her life and the world around her. Even when she does talk about love, she doesn’t just look at the facts, but instead she analyses her psyche and how she processes her own relationships.
As Leav talks about her place on this earth, she talks about humanity and equality across the human race in a simplistic nature.
“For once you believe no one is beneath you – you will see no one is above you.”
I was glad that Leav addressed Covid without being too over-the-top. Everywhere we go these days, someone is talking about Covid, but Leav brings her usual vanilla sweet words, making the topic feel less of a drag.
