bassetluv: I bought this mat as I have a tendency to leave dishes until they accumulate, then do one big load at once (hand wash, no dishwasher). As a result, the large dish tray that I have wound up sitting on my countertop at all times, and I got tired of seeing it there constantly. (Lazy? Perhaps, but with health issues that leave me absolutely spent by the end of the day, I finally gave up on convincing myself that I'd 'do better tomorrow'.)
So I invested in this dish mat. And so far I'm impressed! It's a wee bit smaller than I'd thought (my fault completely, however) but it certainly does the trick. As a single person living alone (okay, my dog too...he's nudging me to recognize him in this commentary) this mat is ample enough to hold the plate, pots, cutlery, and other assorted cooking paraphernalia that I usually wind up accumulating during a meal prep. It's very pretty and highly absorbent, and (bonus!) encourages me to do that nightly cleanup instead of trying to fill an entire dish rack before putting dishes away.
All this said, a very good purchase at a very good price. I'm more than satisfied. :)
