SENTRY V1.0 Dual Mode Phone Call Blocker - Block Unwanted Calls & Protect Your Privacy

grammiet: I don't usually write reviews this soon after getting the product, but this product worked great already so I had to get my review in here to help others! First, I have At&t Uverse for my home phone line. Second, they are ok, but they totally stink at allowing you to block incoming calls without valid caller id. Even though they claim that, if a telemarketer can mess up their callerid so that it shows fewer numbers than a real number at&t lets it through BUT doesn't let you block it. It is ridiculous that they allow calls through with a caller id that says: "Unavailable 1" or "unavailable 1234", but then their blocking feature says you have to have ten digits in order to block a number. Perhaps the telemarketers pay the phone companies to make it hard to block their calls, or perhaps i am too cynical. Whatever, robo calls woke me up from one nap too many and I decided to find a solution. I saw some mentions of this device from people writing in the uverse community support forums. SkiBum: After several weeks of using the SENTRY Call Blocker (SCB), I have developed a hate/love relationship with it. It does one thing well. It creates a separation from you and telemarketers and it does stop most of the annoying calls from scammers trying to sell you unwanted junk like solar panels, and "free money from 0bama" nonsense. I have always felt that these scammers should be charged with an equivalent of breaking and entering, just simply because that I pay for a phone service for *MY* need, be it my business or my personal use, and I have never authorized every Tom, Dick, or Harry the option to violate my Right to peace and quiet. I am convinced that there is a special level of Hell for telemarketers. And this device does help to eliminate those types of calls. I went from 6-10 of these unwanted calls per day to almost zero.

Unfortunately, that is the ONLY thing that this device does well, and the things it does NOT do well are enough to disconnect the device and put it in a box in the garage! Here are the problems with the SCB:
