Roberts Audio Video: Was receiving a half dozen or more waste calls a day. Plugged it in, and they're trapped. No complicated setup was required (but it is very tweakable), it worked out of the box for +90% of the junk calls; including fake city and blank names. Makes a huge difference at the office.

Amazon Customer: Update/edit:
After using this device for a little while I discovered a potentially fatal flaw it had. As a result I have lowered my rating of the device, and added this edit to my review.
The problem I noticed is that the device would sometimes "freeze up" where the attached phones no longer function and the buttons on the device don't do anything. This really appears to be the same sort of "consumer electronics crash" I have noticed in other devices I have owned (including my personal computers), and like my other electronic devices cutting the power for a few seconds "fixes the issue" (as the device then reboots into its normal/working state when power is restored). However, in the case of this specific device, the "crash" does mean that phone service is DOWN until the problem is noticed and the power cycling is done.
Now this "device flaw" was so serious to my usage (as I could lose phone service without warning), that I would have stopped using the call blocker if I had to live with this issue. However, I did come up with what I think is a viable "work around" for this problem. On the theory that the device needs to be "up" for multiple days before...

Book LoverBook Lover: So, that's encouraging!
I just got another landline a few months ago for no other reason than calling 911 in an emergency. I gave my landline number to exactly ONE PERSON, my son. The very day AT&T activated my number, I had non-stop marketing calls. Since that day, I had so many marketing calls , it filled the 300 blocked caller list on my Panasonic phone so I had to delete older numbers. It's absolutely despicable that this is allowed to continue. Even having your name on the Do Not Call list (A JOKE!) is ignored by those creatures. So, of course, the burden of stopping the obnoxious calls falls on us, the consumer, as usual.
Hence, the Digitone ProSeries II Call Blocker.
I just received this two hours ago. It took about 20 minutes to connect it all up. Then another 20 minutes to figure out how to set the clock on it... HINT - Call your landline from your mobile and that (or any call) will automatically set the clock. You cannot manually set it. AND, DO NOT UNPLUG IT or you will have to repeat that step. Ask me how I know that. :(
AUGUST 23, 2020 EDIT/UPDATE:
You CAN manually program the date/time by using Code 95 on your VOIP phone. You enter code 95, two...

Jimmy61Jimmy61: The product had all the features I wanted such as the Whitelist and Blocklist and any calls not on either of these lists would be answered by an answering service machine. After setting it up and testing it, everything looked and worked great. Then all of a sudden the screen display turned to gibberish. I tried rebooting the box, reseting it to factory defaults, clearing all the data, rebooting again. The screen displays nothing but gibberish. Very disappointed as I thought I had a good solution for my elderly mother who is getting slammed with spammers and scammers even hough she is on the national DO Not Call list which appears to be worthless. I may send i back and try an otters one. But, I saw a mother reviewer had problems with the box and had set a timer to reboot it once a day. Unfortunatley, a reboot will not fix this problem. So, the quality of the components the company is using is very suspect. So, I may try another product instead.
