They are not difficult to use. At 5’1” I need to stand on a step stool but I get the job done. I’m 79 and I have no intention of giving up kayaking.

acio: I recently purchased the CARTMAN 1" x 12' Lashing Straps, 6 of them for a dollar cheaper than 2 of these. I figured heck, they're just straps basically made out of the same material. I went and picked up a new kayak I bought and strapped it o n top of my Chevy Tahoe with ease. Then got home to find I could NOT get the straps to unlock. Well to make a long story short even after trying pliers I had to cut the straps to get the kayak off the top of my car.
So I thought I'd try these even though it was a dollar more for 4 less straps. And wow! No comparison. Maybe the ones I had were defective? I mean, 2 of them at the same time? Who knows. But these were so easy to get the the strap in and out I thought maybe I was doing it wrong but sure enough, that strap wouldn't budge. I highly recommend these straps!! They work beautifully even easier than expected. GREAT product!

Amazon Customer: Used to secure kayaks to my bed extender. Stayed tight even after driving a mile down a pitted gravel road. I have used ratchet straps in the past. These are faster and easier to use and surprisingly held just as well. I'll have to see how they hold once they start to wear, but for now they work great.
