Val: I was going to put a cat door in and purchased the saw and cat door, then I came across this and decided, why not. It works great, my dogs can no longer get in and eat the cats sprinkled poop. For the longest time, I was wondering why the cat litter doesn’t smell and thought maybe my son was cleaning it out, yeah, no, my dogs thought the cat was leaving them snacks. So nasty. But this works great.

Kelly P: I liked this so much that I ended up purchasing two more. Great way to keep our dogs out of our cat’s space, as the opening is the perfect size to let a cat through and keep our dogs out.

Also great if you have cats that like to go in and out of a bedroom door but you don’t want them banging your door wide open all the time, particularly while sleeping.

I do wish this could adjust just a little bit bigger and a little bit smaller for different size door frames, but it really is a great, sturdy product. Have been using daily for several months now with no issues.

Ishida: Put product on a bedroom door (the cat room), where their litter boxes are. It’s been on two weeks so far and dog hasn’t gotten in. I’m not convinced that if the dog went full tilt on it that she couldn’t get in but she isn’t allowed upstairs during the day without supervision so it’s never had a big try. The cats did get locked out of the room once when the dog tried and so the door bounced closed and they couldn’t get in. I realize you can buy a foam piece separately to help with this but frankly, for the price I feel like that should be included. Kind of cheap of them not to have the ‘whole package’ together(this the four star ranking).

Amazon Customer: Had for about a month, works great. Better alternative to a baby gate and costs less. Dogs stay out of of the litter boxes, cats have access and very easy to use. Ordered a second one for my daughters room so the cats can go in and out and the dogs can't get delicious kid toys.

Amazon Customer: We have two dogs and a cat. The dogs LOVE eating cat droppings. We have tried baby gates, bungee cords -- all very inconvenient. Didn't even realize they made something like this. So easy to stick on, so easy to use. Forget the clumsy baby gates. This is a no-brainer and so much less expensive!

DragonSpecV: It's near perfect! Works as it should; however, the only issue I have is that over time the latch loosens itself so I have to re-tighten it. So the only reason I give it 4 stars.

Chelsea Cooke: These with the little soft foam door stoppers together are the dream team! (I didn’t know at the time but you can buy them together in a pack too!) If you’re training a pup and/or you have a cat you need these! We use it to keep our 5 month old pup in the bedroom with us at night and allow our cat to come and go (he’ll scratch at the door on either side if it’s closed) As well as keeping the dog out of our cats litter box in the bathroom! Also gives the cat a place to come during the day away from puppy (bathroom or bedroom) and keeps the dog in the main areas of the house!

A king: I highly recommend the Door Buddy Adjustable door strap and latch. I have a soon to be 1yr old puppy. I don't want to completely shut the doors in my house to keep my dog out of certain rooms. This is a fantastic option to getting a baby gate. This is the 2nd door strap I've ordered and it's the perfect alternative. I have 2 cats, and when I'm not watching or leave my home or taking a shower and can't watch what my puppy may be getting into, I simply hook the strap and I'm assured she will not be getting into my room where the litter boxes and cat dishes are, as well as going into my grandaughters room and chewing up a plastic toy or accessory to a toy. With this product, I no longer have to scold my puppy for getting into mischief and destroying an item. It's strong, cannot be forced open, and the strap is adjustable so have been able to adjust it as my dog gets bigger. My grandaughters room is the only room with carpet, and occasionally my dog would use her carpet to relieve herself during the night. KG: We have cats,...and a puppy. Puppies aren't as cute, snuggly, sweet, or huggable after you've caught them eating kitty rocas out of the cat's litter box! Before it became a hard to break habit I wanted to make sure the puppy would no longer have access to the litter box. I had originally considered a small pet door or one of those baby gates that have the smaller access door on the bottom. Cutting a hole through our bathroom door to install a cat door was not really an option for us, which left the baby gate as the best choice. Then I found this door latch,...which was so much more reasonable in price than the baby gate was that I decided to try this first.

Installing it was simple, just stick one side to the door frame, and stick the other side to the door, then let it set for a day. The ribbon that connects the two pieces is adjustable so even our fattest cat can go in and out of the bathroom to access the box,...but the dog cannot.
