Secure Keyless Gate Lock System: Durable Latch & Fence Lock

JenG: We have this gate lock on two of our wooden gate doors and now have securely locked gates. There is a cover over the inside latch so it can't be opened by someone reaching over the gate to unfasten it. We now don't have to keep a padlock on the inside latch and can go in and out of the gate easily using our numeric code. The lock is easy to install and is very easy to use. In other words, we love the lock, works great and is exactly what we needed.

Jesse Gomez: I'd been looking for a solution like this to keep my fence closed and locked. It gives you the security of having a combo code set up from the outside but still have access to open from the opposite side (inside). It was a pain having a padlock, because I couldn't open it if I was in my backyard. I had to walk all the way inside and around my house to open the padlock. now this keeps it easy to manage. Great buy!

Halloween Kid: I purchased the Yardlock XLS in January and a few months later had a warranty issue that I was not going to bother about but the wife suggested reaching out to Yardlock. I'm glad I did as Don (the president of Yardlock) sent me the new unit which fixed the problem. I was impressed that he not only took care of the situation himself, but that he added his card in the replacement shipment to call or email if I had any other issues.

I am very happy with the purchase of the Yardlock XLS Lock and Latch System and it has held up beautifully for almost a year now. It is used daily and there are no further issues that I have had. I would definitely recommend this product.

The installation may be a little tricky for a beginner DIYer, as the angle of the hole through the fencepost is critical for trouble free use and the spring loaded latch portion with the four screw holes in it may need to be squeezed a little before installing the screws so that the moving latch itself doesn't waver from side to side too much. I noticed that originally when it was installed that the latch would be a little too floppy which caused it not to latch easily. I removed it, squeezed the latch...

Peggy: Instructions are easy to follow . However mine jammed and would not open MEA CULPA !!
phoned the help line ,spoke to Don. He was masterful in explaining what may have happened. He said he would send out a new lock. This is the bestpart, waiting for the lock, who shows up at the door? Don the owner and inventor. Blew my socks off!!! He happened to be visiting our city and knew where we lived.
He set the combination for us gave us a few hints for our next two locks we are ordering.
Absolutely wonderful to meet the inventor and realize the man is so passionate about his locks and his customers

G. Stanley: First the good points - this seems a sturdy lock for a fence gate. It latches easily, locks securely, and appears sturdy and weather resistant. I expect it to give many years of service.

The bad? This thing is a pain to install. I am a retired carpenter who was a certified door and hardware and lock installer (among other certifications). But I had trouble with this thing despite years of experience with latches, locksets, and other door hardware. Too many parts to hold in place while trying to pre-drill and screw into place. Better have some clamps available. Parts do not fit well together and screw holes do not align correctly. I had to re-drill holes to get everything to line up correctly. The hardware (screws) are cheap metal and strip easily. After the first two became unusable (stripped out heads - and getting them back out was a chore) I tossed all of the supplied ones and used screws from my own supply.

But now that the cussing is done and it is installed I am happy with it.

Brian Gore: Once installed, we had a slip up in creating a new code combination and were unable to open the lock. Our error. Thought we were in serious trouble. After all, there are 10,000 possible combinations. And the lock cannot be picked.
A call to the companies support line was answered within 1 day by a technician who gave us his experienced advise with clients who made similar mistakes. Sure enough, his suggestions worked quicker than I had anticipated!
An excellent customer service with a happy outcome.

Giulia M.: I do like this as it allows me to leave things in the backyard and know that the gates are locked. Have had one installed for a year and this is the second one which is intended for the front gate. Installation takes a bit of time but once done you will be happy. The first one we have had for over a year and worked well through the winter months even though the cover is harder to slide open. Since the numbers on the dial are small remember to take your reading glasses especially if the door slams shut on you. The numbers are small. A work around is to always reset the numbers to a constant like 0-0-0-0 so you can at least count your way to your code.

violentshadows: This was super easy to install on a vinyl fence. I needed to be able to open the gate from both sides, and currently, the lock on the inside before installing this was impossible to reach from the outside. Due to criminal activity around these parts, I want some sort of lock on the gate, but I wanted to be able to get into the gates! Although it says it’s a quick install, it still took about 45 minutes to do it properly. I had to order separate striker bars due to the fact the 4” bars provided weren’t enough for me. That wasn’t a big issue at all. After getting it all installed and ready, everything works perfect and no snags or lags.

There is however a few things I’d like to see the company improve with this system;

1) The rolling numbers for the lock aren’t quite easy to move. Of course spray lubricant will fix this issue, but perhaps some should be provided.

2) The company says these work in cold winters, but it’s a good idea to spray with a lubricant. Perfect - then why not provide some sort of lubricant with the product?

3) The raised line in which the numbers need to be lined up to is almost impossible to see. My older parents...
