Seattle Sports Sherpak Go!15 - 100% Waterproof Cartop Storage Cargo Bag Carrier for Cars and SUVs

Linda O: I used this product on an 8-day roadtrip from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA. It was very easy to install on my older Honda CRV's naked roof. Thought this item does not come with instructions, the instruction manual is free online -- Google "Sherpak Go Roof Installation" and it's the first link that pops up. It stayed secure the entire time. I also bought the pad separately and I definitely recommend using that. I zip-tied the unused straps so they would not flap in the wind; it was quiet and I would often forget it was even there. This bag fits a lot of stuff, though you need to be mindful of the weight because if it's packed too heavy, any roof bag can dent the roof of your car. You should aim to pack the bag with weight distributed as evenly as possible to help prevent this. I did not have any rain, but my things did stay dry in the morning dew. The bag can get very hot if left out in direct sunlight, with no breeze for long periods of time. I tried to park in the shade as much as possible but inevitably you'll be parked in the sun at some point. No damage to my things, including plastic vacuum bags for clothes, but something to be mindful about when packing.

Clint Young: I purchased the Sherpak go 15 cartop carrier just a few days before making the trip from Central Ohio to Virginia Beach. I had considered getting the Sherpak 20, but went with the 15 due to lower price and very positive reviews! (Thanks Amazon users!) I have a few thoughts/comments about the unit.

1. You can fit a LOT of "stuff" in the cartop carrier. I personally put in 1 Large suitcase, 2 smaller roller carryon type cases. A pack-n-play , a few pillows, two beach chairs, 1 beach skim board, 2 kids sized body boards for the ocean, and a baby pool / water floating "thingy." lol. There may have been a few extra items I put inside of it, but I can't recall right now.

I didn't use my wagon on this trip with the roof rack bars, but instead used the straps on it to affix to the roof of a 2012 Honda Accord. I purchased the Sherpak "pad" that goes on your roof for this as well. I'm not sure how it would have worked without it, but I highly recommend the roof pad. I know the unit was extremely secure with it, and it also helped provide the piece of mind that I wouldn't be scratching the roof.

Nicola Coulson: We have found the Sherpak Go 15 to be very helpful. It holds a good amount of stuff, is easy to use and packs away nice and small. We did go through some heavy rain on our drive and did find that there was some leakage, but nothing major. I just wouldn't pack anything up there that would be a problem if it got wet. Overall a good value.

Jared D. Driesen: We just got back from a 2500 mile trip with this bag. Overall, I am very pleased. Like most I had a hard time deciding between a hard shell and a bag. In the end I went with the bag b/c of price, storage when not in use, and frequency of use. We will probably use this twice a year and I don't have room to store a hard shell. If you plan on purchasing this or any bag - there are some downsides. 1) They are not quick and handy. You will need to pack it full and fill out the space with items like suitcases, sleeping bags, coolers, etc. If not you will have a bunch of loose bag flopping around. 2) Also, it takes a little time to load and unload with the straps and filling it full correctly. After 2-3 times you get good at it and its no longer an issue. Other than those two issues, it works well for what it is - a bag.
It appears to be manufactured well and the materials are heavy duty. The zipper is sturdy and seems to work well. Like any zipper you can't force it...so some common sense is helpful. Weather resistant - we went through two 30 minute rain storms that were fairly heavy. Everything was dry. The only place that can leak is the zipper. And that is covered with a 2-3 inch...
