Z Swede: As I usually start my reviews; nothing is perfect. That said I have been pleased with this machine. I actually consider this product for me, to be a medical device. I am days to being 78 years old. I have Peripheral Neuropathy. That said my only complaint is that there are no real instructions on the computer, its total usage, and identifying the computer buttons on its face. As far as I can tell there is no place to get that info. I have thought about such equipment as this, but not in the recumbent form. As I have been losing the use of my legs, exercise was one answer. I have been active in various forms all along getting what I thought was plenty of exercise. What this machine helps me to do is to use cycling to up the level in getting oxygen into my blood stream and thus down to my legs and feet. I do not have to fear falling over, swaying off course in walking, and worrying should there be obstructions in my path. One of the big reasons I chose this particular machine is the seating, which is perforated. It also is molded to a form not in flat surfaces. The material of the seating is not soft. sherry guikad: Assembly was reasonably easy. I would have been more satisfied if the instructions also included use of the display but more inclusive instructions were available on line. I experienced issues with heart rate accuracy right from he beginning but customer service from Nautilus was fantastic. They have arranged to send parts and a serviceman to correct this issue-still pending.

ryan courtryan court: I originally bought an Echelon Sport bike but was forced to return it as it required bluetooth to see basic metrics like distance and speed. In fact, they sent 3 replacements bikes and the bluetooth didn't work or repeatedly cut out on those making them useless. So I went with the Schwinn 270 after getting my refund and deciding a recumbent would be more comfortable than a spin bike. Boy the latter sure is true and the workouts are just as good. The spin bike bruised my bum pretty bad even after buying a wide cushy aftermarket seat replacement and if I biked over 45min, my back ached even after more than a month of "getting used to it" and I ride 5 days a week. The Schwinn was comfortable right out of the box, but the bluetooth doesn't work lol! That is 4 bikes in 2 months with dysfunctional bluetooth but with the Schwinn 270 it doesn't matter as all my metrics are right on the screen so I don't care. It is also geared exactly like the old Life Cycle bikes from the gym I used to go to so I was very familiar with the levels I am comfortable with. I used to be a very fit guy but things went off the rails during lockdowns. I have now lost over 30lbs in just over 2 months and that...

Triple CTriple C: In summary, this is an excellent exercise bike with all the bells and whistles. A great addition to my home gym.

After trying Schwinn 270 recumbent bike at my local sporting goods store (Dick's Sporting Goods) and liking it a lot, I was contemplating between the 270 and the 230. Basically there are three main differences: (1) The 270 has 25 levels of resistance versus 20 levels for the 230. (2) The seat has cushion on the 270 while the 230 has a plastic seat with holes for airflow. (3) The 270 could have up to 4 saved profiles and the 230 could have 2. Number of profiles on the 270 might be a good feature for folks who would share the bike with more than 2 people but I was only sharing with my wife so it wasn't a big deal for me. And since the 230 is a new model (2016 vs. 2013), I decided to go with the 230 and I couldn't be happier.

Before I talk about pros and cons, I just wanted to talk just a little bit about myself so you get a better perspective. I'm 5'9'', male, 160 lbs, in my 30s, in a relatively good shape but nothing close to a triathlon athlete or body builder. I'm just a casual rider who puts in about 30-45 minutes, 2-3 times a week.
