George: I have it on by back patio door. I had someone try and just walk into my home once while I was outside. This person was not in their right mind. Fortunately I was getting ready to leave and door was locked. However when home and running between inside and out I leave my doors unlocked. Now they are locked all the time. Some times I'd go to bed and forget to lock my door. Again nice. Last not least, not getting locked out.

I have dead bolts to augment the door lock. If am home for night I use dead bolts, or leaving home for a period of time I lock dead bolts. These lockes help me make sure I am never unlocked. The code is easy to enter and get access to home. If you want door to stay open you can turn lock off, and leave in always open mode.

M. Sullivan: This is a great lock that does not eat batteries. Beware that there are electronic locks that go through batteries like no tomorrow. I got a fingerprint one before this one and was changing batteries < 3 months. I bought this one in 2017 and am now just getting around to changing the battery in 2023. The battery still works, but seems slower at unlocking.

Anthony LawsonAnthony Lawson: Bought this lock on Prime Day! Great deal! VERY easy to install. (I’m no handy man) Took me 15-20 min start to finish. That includes reprogramming the entry code. It’s basic but does everything I need. Have it installed on a door to an outdoor storage closet. The auto locking feature is great. That feature cannot be turned off, but for my application it is not an issue. Fit and finish are A+ My only complaint is that when it comes time to change the battery, you have to take the whole unit off the door. The battery is housed under the keypad, not in a separate panel on the other side of the door like many other units on the market. I have Schlage locks and door handles throughout my entire home and have zero complaints.

Jared: After installing hundreds of these style locks on my rental properties I have concluded that the Schlage name holds up. The only other brand Ive used that competes is Yale. Both are far superior to the knock off junk promoted on Amazon. This lock has already outlasted brands like Sifely. Granted to get all the bells and whistles in Schlage the price jumps dramatically, but at the end of the day its something you truly depend on.

Bob TobiasBob Tobias: The media could not be loaded.  I've used a bunch of these over the years. My  Electronic Keyless Door Lock Set  finally broke after 12 years (almost to the day). I would have repurchased the same lock, but it's no longer available. I tried the (less expensive)  Buoan Electronic Keypad Door Knob , and it only took me a few hours to realize it was more trouble than it was worth. Then, based on reputation and reviews, I got this Schlage lock, and I'm happy I did.

This lock is built like a tank. Installation was quick and easy. Best of all, using it is a snap. The buttons are large and brightly illuminated.

Best of all, the lock operates smoothly. In fact, it operates silky-smoothly. And that includes both handles and the latch. As I mentioned, I used another "substantial" lock for a decade and then a budget version for a couple of days. This Schlage lock has them both beat, and the difference is amazing.

Now, some things I didn't like so much...

RPentz: Super easy to install- anyone who has ever exchanged a lockset can install this in 10 minutes or less. Very smooth working and easy to program. The only complaint I have is the key should be removable in either position so you don't have to key in the code every time to open the door.

Jonathan Reynolds: Instructions to fit were blear. I had no need to alter the door to fit the lock - it seems to be a standard size. Only one key provided - 2 would be sensible.

Amazon Customer: This exact shlage lock is 20-40$ cheaper on amazon than in store like home depot. I bought 2 of the auto-lock version for my garage outside door and the door between the garage and the house. I had never installed a lock before in my life and I was able to install these two.

One of my teenage girl would go out exiting by the garage door and leaving it unlocked and it would drive my husband mad.

I bought the auto-lock version: when the door close, it’s locked. This has solved a lot of problem in my household!!!

The battery is supposed to last 3 years. I am sceptical but i guess we ll see that.
