I installed this lock Sep of 21.
The lock is packaged well. The outside portion is metal, the inside portion has a metal plate that attaches to the door for strength. It has a cover to hide the electronics and batteries on the inside made of plastic.
THIS IS A DEAD BOLT. Dead bolts are normally LONGER than a normal door latch.
The installation is basically plug and play in a dead bolt position.
Depending on your installation, you may need to deepen the space in the door frame to take the dead bolts length. Most installations should not need any modification.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! The install is easy but a couple parts need to be positioned a certain way, if you don't install properly, the lock won't work.
Follow the set up instructions. Depending on the side of the door you install, you will have to make adjustments so the strike operates as designed.

Tom In Bucks County: Before I get into a few details, I want to point out a basic flaw in virtually all products in this category: A deadbolt with a manual handle on the inside is not secure, if your door has windows. If the door has windows, the deadbolt needs to be keyed on the inside for real security. But as far as I can tell there are no keypad deadbolts on Amazon that are keyed on the inside, so this issue does not count against this product.
With that little issue out of the way, here are my impressions of this. The good news is it is reasonably well built for the price, and it does the job. If you are not going to spend the money on high end, this product gives you a more than adequate experience at the lower end. That said, I have a couple issues.
First, although it's clear if you look at all the pictures, the inside unit is black, not the advertised finish (brush nickel in my case). This did not occur to me when I bought it. I bought brushed nickel to match the room, but what faces into the room is not brushed nickel. Technically my bad, but this isn't really clear unless you look really closely.
