The SAMCOM FWCN30A Rechargeable Handheld Walkie Talkie is the best two-way radio for easy communication. With 22 channels, a NOAA weather alert, flashlight, LCD display, call tone, group, and keypad lock, this walkie talkie offers superior sound quality and long-lasting battery life. Its rugged build quality is perfect for outdoor use, and this two-pack is the perfect choice for any situation. Len: Plenty of features, however the Samcom FRS walkie talkies don't work with Midland walkie talkies directly.
I was in a group and we all had different brands of handheld radios. I could not communicate with a Midland walkie talkie.
If you are communicating with others that may have a different brand you may have incompatibility communicating with others.

oliver mullins: These walkie talkies are fantastic. I work in a marina where we need reliable communication.
These fit all our criteria :
-Very tough
-Outstanding battery life (all day and night.... Impressive!)
-East to operate and I don't accidentally push buttons... The layout is great
-Rechargeable
-CLEAR AS A BELL!
-Wonderful all around value. Highly recommend!

Christian C. Kunig: When I first got them, I had to test them. First, I have to point out that we live in a building made out of cinder block with a metal roof. Good cordless phones do not work outside the building. Good WiFi does not work more than 10 feet from the building. LTE (T-Mobile Home internet using a Nokia Fast Mile) has 5 bars behind the building because there's a cell tower about a half mile away in a field behind us. But there is no way to get more than three bars with that thing anywhere inside the building. Most cell phones don't work in portions of the building.
The wife was laying in bed watching TV in the northeast part of the building. There were actually three interior walls, too - one also cinder block - between her and where I was headed. I headed out on highway 13, a divided highway, with the other radio. I turned around and went south and slightly west on highway 13. In a half mile, I turned right, went another quarter mile and went inside a store in a strip mall. By that time it was breaking up a little. I had to stand still and aim the antenna and I could still talk to her. Good enough for me!! Anything we've actually had to do with them - not just testing them -...

Old School: Bought them for a road trip from southern California to central Texas. Two cars. Charged before we left and didn't have to charge again until the second night. Worked without issues through the hills even when separated by semi trucks and a couple miles. A little interference statics through El Paso but otherwise they did what was needed.

Doug Grant: The radios work well. I'm in a wheelchair and when I go fishing with my son we can fish apart knowing we can communicate. Thanks for a quality product.
