Salice 10-Pack Soft Close Full Overlay 105 Degree Hinges with Included Screws

Katie JarstadKatie Jarstad: The media could not be loaded.  I have been wanting soft close hinges for years! However, I didn’t want to drill into my existing custom cabinets. I finally found the same brand (Salice) hinge in soft close and it was a an easy fix! They fit perfectly into the existing cup and clipped right on to existing plate. You only get the hinge, so keep that in mind and these only work for certain cabinets. I could not put them on my lazy Susan or pie shape corner cabinets. Once installed, there is a very good You Tube video on how to adjust the hinge to fix gaps, level, etc. So, expect to have to make some adjustments. These hinges are expensive, but worth it! No way, did I want to start drilling holes and redoing my kitchen. I love how QUIET they are! No more slamming:)

VinceVince: These hinges do exactly what I hoped. They close the cabinet doors gently. These replaced existing Salice brand full overlay hinges and fit perfectly into the existing holes already drilled in the cabinet door, and they connected just find to the existing mounting bracket already on the cabinet wall.
On the smallest cabinet doors, I only needed to swap out one hinge to get the soft close action. On larger doors, I had to swap out both hinges for it to work properly.

BUT - they must be just a milimeter off from the original in how it sits vertically. One of my cabinet doors rubs on a drawer above when these are installed. It's a tight fit, but I removed them and went back to the old hardware and the rubbing does not happen. I'll give up on this one door. (Too many details to go into; hardware cannot be adjusted downwards on this one door.)

NOTE: the mounting bracket (I don't know the real term) that mounts to the cabinet wall is NOT included. This is just what goes on the door.

It's great to have soft-closing cabinets now. I have ordered another set of these to do more cabinets in the house.
