z1Roni: Needed 3 to replace the Slider Screens and Read a bunch of the Reviews for this SUNGUARD Screen Replacement. The very first pic posted Aug 4 2019 by Wmlipe is right on. And I did the same test of the screen with my Cell Phone when my Screens arrived. I was hoping that the Company or Amazon would have changed the wrongs in the description. THE PIC is of something you DO NOT get in your Order. That person that posted the close up view did us all a favor.
What you do get is the Pet Resistant Screen, not the Pictured close-up of the double treads. Pet Resistant shows ONE THREAD going across the horizonal with double threads vertically. EXACTLY what I got and NOT THE PICTURED closeup of the double thread on both Horizonal and Vertical which will be a much stronger made screen. IF that horizonal thread breaks chances are the screen will fall apart. The Horizonal threads hold fabric tight and straight. I am a Seamstress and do know how that works. Yes I could get more technical but it isn't necessary.
Bottom line is....this is inexpensive and Yes it could help with heating but the FACT is the Manufacturer/SELLER is Selling something differently that what is SHOWN in the Closeup...

D. Fields: I bought this on Amazon thinking it would be the same mesh-type as the brand I originally bought (and used up) from Home Depot. First of all, this exact same product, dimensions and all, I later found on Home Depot's website for HALF the price. 16 dollars and some cents here--7 dollars on Home Depot. So, I preface this by suggesting you buy it from there (assuming the price doesn't increase).
Now, having said that, this stuff does an OK job. The original product I was using (really wish I could remember the brand) had a tightly-woven patter than is thick and blocks light really well. Imagine a wicker basket; it was woven that way. The Saint-Gobain product, however, isn't woven. The pattern is melded together, with small squares like the regular bug screen. It blocks some more sun than those regular bug screens, but not near as much as the wicker basket screens I had. Another negative is the durability. DO NOT slip with your knife even the slightest. I got a screen fully installed, and in the last bit of work cutting off the excess, I nicked the inner side and sliced through it. I patched it with a bit of tape and was fine with that, but I'm warning you. My slip was...

zita cleland: I love this sunscreen product & color & it looks great on my custom 2” ruff wood stained frame window screens on front of house & reduced direct HOT sun heat level in front of home lots… product says reduces by 15 or so degrees… all I can say is this room is LOTS cooler than before screen product installed & i also had/have sun heat reducing film on glass windows which didn’t reduce heat much. NOTE… room is darker but COOLER TEMPS in extreme summer heat temps worth trade… just turn on interior led lights.
