caseycasey: My cat was always trying to claw our screens so we had to keep our windows closed. I bought these and it was a total game changer. I bought the tallest ones so I could keep my windows wide open. They fit perfectly. They stay put. My cats don't even try to claw these. The price does seem a bit high but my cats being able to enjoy the window being open is priceless to me. I would definitely recommend then to anyone having issues like I was. They're also built very nice and sturdy. Definitely doesn't seem cheaply made like the other wood ones. I posted a pic of the one in my slider window. That one just rests between the window and screen. Are regular windows the screen fits perfectly. I'm actually ordering 2 more. I've had the 1st 2 for over 8 months.

S. Kimball: I will need to reposition for vertical use rather than horizon it'll but looks like an easy task. I will use it in a doorway to try and keep a cat in the house. That will be the test as to how sturdy it is but for use in a window looks like it will be wonderful.

DNolan: These seem like good quality, price seems a little high to me, and I don't know if they'll last, have only had them for a couple of weeks so far. Only minor issue I have is that even though there's a felt strip around the top and bottom, the bottom still leaves a small gap. I've used a piece of AC foam insulation to fix that, the thicker foam fills the gap that the screen leaves.

kate: I do like these screens they fit in the sash windows well and expand and contract smoothly. U suppose they are modified for the current times as they are not as sturdy as the old fashioned wood framed and stainless steel mesh screens I have previously used manufactured in the US.
These are made in China.
That said, they do the job, but I expect that the fiberglass mesh won't have any remarkable longevity. I have concerns that the mesh will degrade and weaken from hot summer weather and increased UV from climate change.
Of greater concern, and not in the listing that I noticed, are child safety warning stickers on the frames which include the additional line 'This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer'. The official list of chemicals known to cause cancer published by the state of California under Proposition 65 legislation is tediously lengthy. Without any actual chemical listed on the product or the heavy paper label with installation instructions, it's impossible to know what the chemical is. My best guess is that the unhealthy chemical has something to do with the fiberglass screen material. If I had children or cats I would not...

S. GibbonsS. Gibbons: I liked that the window screens were well made and sturdy and have the felt liner along the outer edges of the screen. It is delivered with the screen ready to be used in the horizontal position. I really like the physical (paper) instructions that come with the screens. Technically, I am using the screen in the horizontal position (where the screens can be elongated) to fit vertically into my window.
