Alberto Tello: I've used it several times, very sharp blades you have to be extremely careful with your dog's skin, and eyes (eyelid can be cut accidentally) but also careful with your hands. VERY SHARP!

your momma: I recently adopted a pyr mix with long easily matted fur. This does a great job on getting out the knots and loose fur. It doesn't pull as much as a regular comb so she seems to like it better.

Tom: If you have a Mini Schnauzer with matted undercoat and your just about to shave it short because getting those knotted clumps of hair out seems impossible…it’s Knot. This tool is INCREDIBLE! Amazon Customer: our 1 yr old cavapoo hair does matt here and there once in a while. We are new to the dog world so dematt is just another new thing to learn. Want to dematt small patches at home ourselves without waiting too long for the groomer or replying on them.
Bought this comb after trawling tonnes of reviews and recommendations and I used this first time having bought it few months ago.. I must say it is very effective and easy to use, impressive. Once big chunk matt removed within minutes... that is having to keep the dog still and distracted for me to do the job..

1. Its sharp

3. After it dematt it reaches the skin, doesn't cause any irritation and discomfort
Cons...
1. It takes several passes over mattes/knots areas until it grab a hold and remove the mattes/knots - be patient
2. I found it effective only on medium mattes/knots
3. I found it to be useless on large tight mattes/knots
4. I had to tilt on an angle for it grip and cut out small mattes/knots - the blades are spaced to far to grip small mattes/knots
I found using a dematting/detangling product along with the rack seems to help a lot to remove medium mattes/knots
I regularly used it a few days a week and it works great to keeping mattes/knots away
**Lastly, a reverse handle would be nice to add when you have to rack/comb in the other direction - go against the grain** Otherwise, I had to reposition my dog several times to get the rack/comb to work in certain areas.

mike1977: Bought this item yesterday as other reviews were very good but with the odd (it didn't work for me) review. I have a Golden Retriever who was heavily matted around the thighs/rear from when she's been in the water. I found that if you use the comb gently going from higher up and working your way down steadily you can see more of the matting under where you have just worked it. After about 30 minutes of grooming her in the garden, I know have a pile of matted fur that looks like a sheep has had a nasty run in with a predator!! Also tried this comb out on the tail and works perfectly. Steady away is the way to go with this because if you try too hard, it will pull the skin and annoy your dog. Always wondered how groomers did these awkward areas and I reckon they use a similar comb to this Safari brand one.
