Chris: Bought these for a quick moving trip and the blankets are nice and did a great job protecting the furniture but a few now have rips and holes. Wish they were a bit stronger.

DeviloftheDetails: I'm not sure why this item has such good reviews. When I unfolded my packing blankets the first thing I noticed is they are paper thin. if you squeeze the blanket with your finger tips there is hardly any give or bounce. There's no padding action to speak of. When I rolled a metal edge along the blanket to simulate something rubbing against it during a rough move, the thread broke...twice! Out of two tries. The threading is very weak and is not tightly woven. You can see the thread is loose and has slack when you use your fingernail to pick it. It will not last I am certain. Yes the blankets will prevent wood on wood abrasions or minor well packed furniture, etc from bumps and scrapes but don't expect it to last. It had a chemical doused smell when I first opened it but after letting it sit for a few weeks it was much better. You could double up the blankets. Then it might offer enough protection from really rough handling. But don't rely on this for frequent repetitive use and durability.
