Nika Cyrus: Rory: An Orca's Quest For The Northern Lights: is an adorable tale about an orca who befriends a beluga whale, a fox and a polar bear on his journey to see the Northern Lights. The story is beautifully illustrated and the text often rhymed. Both kids sat captivated by the story while I read it so that is high praise from toddlers. It had two pages at the end that were full of fun facts.

Reinbeauchaser: Bought this book for my 3.5-year old grandson when his parents took a couple's trip to Alaska. The story follows an Orca name Rory who just 'knows' there are heavenly lights somewhere and so he leaves his pod in search of the Aurora Borealis. Along the way he makes life long friends, each one an introduction of an animal indigenous to Alaska. It's written in rhyme and is very well done. If you have a child who loves orcas, belugas, polar bears, and/or arctic foxes, they will love this book. The animals are somewhat anthropomorphic in their characterizations, but they are very endearing nonetheless. This is a story for children and so children will definitely love it.

Janet Eriksson: I’ve always been fascinated by the northern lights, so I like the concept that this little orca is fascinated too, and he meets other friends along the way.
The illustrations are sure to stir a child’s interest in adventure and learning more about Arctic life and the northern lights.
Some of the words might be a little advanced for the youngest readers, but if you’re reading it with/to them, you can help them understand. The story has a nice rhyme to it.
Great list of Arctic creature facts at the end of the story.
I read the Kindle version and wasn’t able to get the font to increase. So just be aware of that. Might be user error, but I usually have no problem increasing the font on Kindle books.

Ilana Shteinberg: This book has quickly elevated to my son’s favourite book. The bonus is, I really don’t mind reading it, as it’s very well written and rhymes. My 3 year old is obsessed with Orcas and this book has done the trick. Thanks!!

MT: Very basic story, nothing to write home about to be honest, and nothing really specific to the Arctic other than the name of the animals and the mention of Northern Lights. As I was using this book in our homeschooling unit study about the Arctic, I was hoping more learning / context would be weaved into the story. 4 friends getting together on a journey could happen anywhere else. But fair enough, not all authors aim to achieve that.

Sherry Shearhart: I had seen the author post about her books on Facebook and knew I had to get them for my son. I chose four and Rory was the first of the four we read. He really enjoyed this story. It kept his attention and the story had a positive message of determination and being of help throughout the story. It was beautifully written and the illustrations are excellent. I will purchase more titles from this author in future as my son is asking for more.

J. Hilton: Well.. where to start? Carmen and Sarah have set off a coruscating light show with this tale of friendship and determination to follow your dream even through adversity.
I loved Nellie the Narwhal and the ocean setting, have not read their second book yet about Rocky the Penguin, but this third installment is a wonderful addition to the ocean vibe. Creatures that you can care about, and care what happens to.
I loved it. I have to say also , the BEST polar bear drawing I think I've ever seen in a children's book! I was so keen to find out what happens, I'm ashamed to admit I read this before reading to my 4 yr old daughter.. but she will hear this story tomorrow for sure. Love this team.. and love their friendly, empathetic ocean ways. Would recommend for young children who like friendly adventures - and great illustration throughout.
