Rootscape Large Pond Aerators: A Must-Have for Large Ponds

KellyKelly: The box looked fine but the bottom of the unit was broken and chipped. I will test to see if it is in a spot to leak air and update my review after. I may return the item in any case.

louis s.: These are 3d printed garbage, the nipple fitting is plastic and broke very easily, this should be a brass fitting. The main housing is starting to crack as well. Do yourself a favour and make your own - dont waste your money on these.

Darren Miller: The plastic ends on the hoses were all broke, due to the small window of time I had, I didn't have time to send it back, so I used it anyways. A warning to all "DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK"

Will G: Produces excellent aeration, great, sturdy item. I wish it was heavier. It has a tendency to travel and not stay in one spot due to working vibrations. I recommend.

P. C.P. C.: I replaced both my 7" air-stone bubblers with the Rootscape Large Pond Aerator. What a difference ! They produce strong aeration bubbles, very small, and way more than the typical air stones did. Also, they apparently require no maintenance to keep clean, but time will tell. (I didn't like having to soak the air stones in muriatic acid to clean them every year or so). I am very impressed with these aerators and the pond is getting way more oxygen now, with increased water movement and small air bubbles. My pictures show bubbles with the Rootscape Aerator, with the existing air-stone bubbler, the old air-stone and my HiBlow HAP120 aerator, and finally the Rootscape Aerator as it looks unpacked.

Chuck G.: I went through careful steps to ensure I placed the diffuser in the deepest area of my pond. After running overnight, the diffuser had moved 25’ closer to shore on its own. Apparently the diffuser doesn’t have enough weight built in it to keep it where you place it. I guess I need to tie a brick to it and try to recenter it again. Yes I used weighted air hose.

ROM: Significantly increased bubbles and oxygen in pond!

But needs to be easier to connect. Larger pumps have hose connections of 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4". Not the 3/8" provided on the product. To be mindful of the customer, do one of two things. Add adapters to convert to 3/8" or redesign the connector so that one can adapt to 1/2', 5/8" or 3/4". That is, provide all these sizes and 3/8". Put the smallest size and then add the other sizes progressively, then one can simply cut off un-needed connectors to adapt to the pump outlet size. Simple, and easy to use and wouldn't cost very much to change the design. Be mindful of the customer!

PapaJim: I started to look for a in-pond aerator system to replace my old system that was more costly to replace the needed aerator tubes. I searched and found the Rootscape Aerator system as I had two in my 7,000 gal pond and one in my 1350 gal pond. I first tried the one unit last winter in the small pond and after using for a few months I ordered two for the larger pond. I am happy with the performance over the units I replaced. They were way less expensive to buy and do perform better so far compared to my old system! Rootscape replacement Diffuser Hoses are available on Amazon for one set of four with clamps for around $20.00. Pretty hard to beat.
