Anni K: Not much to say. When you need it, you need it. If you are looking for compression, this is not the product. (Which IS why I bought this lighter weight product)

Sharon in Alaska: Here in Alaska, we often start our plants indoors to accommodate our shorter growing season. The problem can be judging exactly when all danger of frost is over. Plant too early and your seedlings are root bound in traditional plastic pots. Transplant to larger pots and you can quickly run out of room on your windowsills or even in your greenhouse.
Air pruning to the rescue!
Gather several yards of stockinette onto a short length of 4" PVC pipe.
Staple one end closed and leave the rest on the pipe. (Staple a few inches of cotton cord into the bottom if you want to wick water from a tray below a grid.)
Fill the pipe with moist soil to the depth you want your pot, just as you would a traditional pot. When as full as you want, insert a disc the size of the inside of the pipe.
Slip a little of the stockinette off the pipe, then push the soil out into the stockinette.
Cut the stockinette an inch or two above the top of the soil.
You can plant seeds directly into this pot or transplant seedlings from a seedling tray. Do not allow it to dry out. Either set in a tray of water or stretch hardware cloth over your tray and allow wicks to dangle into...

Valeria Moniz: It was exactly what I wanted

Christine P.: This is exactly what I needed, to make "socks" to line the uncomfortable silicone rubber flange of a CPAP mask.
Because this material is knitted in a ribbed stitch, it's also better for this purpose than another kind I had gotten, for a different use, from a physical therapist (that kind was knitted in flat stockinette stitch, the edges of which rolled up and shed a lot of lint, when cut). The edges of this kind lie flat and don't roll, and it doesn't shed lint as badly (be sure to use very sharp scissors, so as not to mangle the delicate cloth).
It doesn't interfere with the fit or sealing properties of the CPAP mask, and the pieces can be washed and re-used (I wash them by hand). For a small-sized full-face mask cushion, I cut 1-yard lengths of 2-inch stockinette into 3 pieces, then fold a piece in half (back on itself) and stretch the now double-layer tube over the mask cushion, covering the silicone part, with the folded edge towards the face opening. It loosens a little overnight, but can be realigned to wear it again (say, for a nap the next day), before changing it for a new piece. Pieces for medium or large size masks may need to be cut an inch or two...
