Monte S: I live in the Pacific Northwest and I got them mainly for the rain - they are plenty warm for winter temps too (in the 20's (F)). Nothing on the bottom of the shoe except a Velcro strip at the arch so no interference with cleats, but if there are vents in your soles, you will need to block them. The design, materials and construction quality seem fine.

The Good:
1. Arrived quickly and is exactly as pictured and described
2. Do not know effectiveness in rain; however, they did keep my toes warm during a 2-hr ride in 39 degree weather. I wore a boot on one foot to test effectiveness against cold. Foot with boot stayed warm while the uncovered foot got cold. The boot effectively kept the cold wind out, so likely will do the same for the rain (no opportunity to ride in rain yet).
3. Was easy to put on over shoes. Observation; those with large ankles might find the fit a tad snug up by the calf area.
4. Side zipper was easy to open and close, and when closed appeared to form a tight seal.
5. Material seemed a cross between neoprene and rubber. Regardless, it appeared sturdy and likely will withstand easily tearing. Also, the reflective strip on back is a plus.
6. Show size is 9.5 inch, which fit well into the large. Front toe area and rear heel area did not feel lose. Walking with these over regular running shoes was easy; hardly noticed they were on.

B K: I am very pleasantly surprised by how well these inexpensive shoe covers work. When I cycle in the winter, my freezing toes have been the only real problem for me. I tried these shoe covers out on a 5-hour ride during which temperatures ranged from 36 - 44 degrees, and my feet stayed pleasantly warm throughout (also assisted by some thick wool socks). The most important thing is that they block the wind, which is the real problem when cycling! They just really worked for me.

I wear size 11.5-equivalent SPD (2-hole) clipless shoes, and the "9-12" size fit perfectly. They go on super easy and stay on without a fuss. Once they're on I just forget that they're there.

I have seen some reviews complaining that the zipper busted. Look, it's a small zipper. You can't use the zipper to pull the two sides together. You have to pull the two sides together with your hand, and only then zip it up so you don't put stress on the zipper. This is pretty basic stuff, folks! Be gentle and the zipper will be fine. (You know that if it were a beefier zipper the weight dweebs would be complaining about how heavy it is.) Use your head.
