Michael: One of the tires on my sub-compact tractor had a leaky valve stem (discovered using soapy water trick). I wanted to try fixing it myself, so I bought this kit. If it was going to work, I would save money and have the kit handy for future repairs.

It worked great! in my case, only the core was damaged. Replacing it was quick and easy with the provided tool and part. Good quality for the price. Since a new core fixed my problem, I haven't tested the rest of the kit yet.

Paul Miller: I've had some slow leaks from around my valve stems on the truck. So I ordered these and purchase a bead breaking tool. It is not so easy to break a bead, so consider whether you can get the tire loose from the rim before jumping to buy these stems. Once the rim hole was exposed, hole cleaned with a round file, and valve stem inserted, you screw on the puller. I recommend a 2x4 block to use for leverage and pull the stem into place. Don't drop the stem in the tire while on the rim...harder to retrieve than you might imagine on stiff tires. Conclusion: stems and puller work fine, but make sure you really can break the bead and depress the tire enough to place stem.

Victor E. Folk: I needed 2 short valve stems for my riding mower, and I really wanted to get the valve stem installation tool.

The quality of the valve stems and the valve core tools seems to be very good, of course time will tell if the valve stems hold up long term.

The only thing I found to be slightly lacking was the threads on the valve stem installation tool. They did not thread onto the valve stem very neatly or easily, and I had to use one of the valve stems to chase the and clean the threads of the tool several times before it threaded onto a valve stem more easily.

I don't know if mine just had not been machined / threaded well or if that is a design flaw, but it worked acceptably after having used one of the new valve stems to clean up the threads on the tool.

I still find it to be a good value, since a quality valve stem tool normally costs more than this entire kit.

I am not sure the tool would hold up to heavy usage, so if you have a tire shop, this might not be for you. But for my needs, only replacing a few valve stems a year, I think the tool will work fine and last.
