Visit the Rinnai Store today and experience the difference for yourself!john cain: Wasn't that hard of install, maybe for average DIY'er, but you will need 3/4" line gas line and water lines. Gas line should be adequate sized up to where you put the connection. Those people saying they had 5/8" gas line prior were probably starving original water heater or had smaller demand water heaters. Mine lasted about 2.5 years performed very well up until it did not, think it has too much electronic computer type stuff. You will need a 120 volt plug for the electronics and firing of the heater. If you lose power during an outage you will not have hot water. I have smaller backup one that runs on 2 D cell batteries for those few events. Might be trying the Fogatti natural gas one this time which has a higher flow rate. Get as high a flow rate as you can budget, smaller flow rates are a problem if your showering and someone uses kitchen or bathroom hot water. The space savings and energy savings cannot be beat.

Corrine busby: We purchased this product 3 months ago. We have seen a reduction in our power bill, with very little increase in our gas bill. It is mounted out side so no more humming of a hot water heater in the house trying to keep water hot all day. It does take a minute for the water to run hot, that is not a big considering the tank is not constantly keeping water hot. We can run two showers at once, with just a slight change in pressure. The pressure change is not enough that you do not complete your shower and feel like you have not rinsed. Make sure you buy the package that Amazon offers, as we did, come to find out or home improvement stores do not carry the valves and would have had to order them. I love this product. We recommended it to my father n law and we just ordered one for his new home he is building. We have a 2800 square foot home, with 3 bed 2 baths, dishwasher and washer machine and it heats the water for everything amazing.

RovingHogan: This is my third tankless water heater, (one in a rental unit and one for my house) what's not to love. Since I was replacing an older unit I already had all the water and gas lines setup. I just had to turn off the water and gas, remove the old unit, and then install the new unit. I've had tank water heaters in the past but because of the minerals in the water I can usually only get 7-8 years before the tank rusts out. With a tankless they easily last 12-14 years. The Rinnai is quieter than my old unit and does a better job of heating up the water (it's faster) and the water seems hotter. The best part of owning a tankless is that you never run out of hot water regardless of how much you use. I'll post an update in the winter when the water heater has work harder because the inlet water temperature is lower.

Amazon Customer: Well, we have a family of 4 and had an electric tank - we always had to schedule hot water usage. It was a pain -- when that thing died we decided to spend a little extra and go tankless since we had natural gas already at home. We got the 6.5GPM natural gas exterior unit.
The install is very easy - a little pex here, some copper there, and wiring it to a basic outdoor switch made it quick work for our contractor. If you are handier than I am you can do this your self -- This goes outside on the house so no vent needed, just some clearance space. option temp control included -- but we just didnt use it and can easily run 2 showers (low flow heads) and the sink at once. Water pressure at our house is just ok, so you notice a little drop in water pressure, but the temperature stays plenty hot. We love this thing.

Patti DPatti D: Would we ever go back to tanked water heater? NEVER, EVER!! We bought this back in Aug 2017 and once we figured out how to give it enough air in the old water heater space there’s not ever been an issue. Live in a double wide trailer where water heater had its own compartment with access from the outside. Pretty fast discovered old ventilation was not enough as it kept giving us an error code…don’t remember what it was…too long ago. Tried using a small floor fan when unit on, worked, but a hassle turning on/off when wanting to use. In the end, made 1/3 outside door screened so plenty of ventilation and NO codes, EVER!
