The Rightline Gear Ace Jr Top Carrier is the perfect choice for those looking for a cargo carrier that fits compact cars. This 10 cu ft carrier is weatherproof, and can easily be attached with or without a roof rack. Rightline Gear is known for its high build quality, convenience, design, and durability, making it the best choice for Vehicle Cargo Carriers. EG: I ordered this at the last minute before a trip when I realized my other roof rack pouch wouldn't fit our new vehicle.
I was a skeptical because of the price. However this product worked as well as my other expensive gear pouch.
Follow the directions and you will have zero problems.

Caree McCullough: I finally got to use this to move 14 hours away. We needed just a few extra things to bring that didn’t fit in the car. The straps seemed like they attached well into the weather stripping, but they did not and the straps snapped and the carrier flew off our roof (luckily just before we got on the highway). I would not use this without a roof rack.
Sucks that it is over 30 days since I bought it so it says I can’t get my money back :(

Kyle Crockard: I've used this roof bag twice - once on a newer car and once on a mid 2000's sedan. On the newer car it was no problem strapping the bag to the weather stripping and everything stayed dry. On the older car, the weather stripping isn't nearly big / strong enough for the straps to clip in properly and it made for a terrible drive - the gaps created in the stripping caught wind at any speed above 90 km/h and was incredibly loud. If it rained there would have been rain in the car.
I'd say its a good product but maybe not for older sedans.

Carmella F.: I purchase this product almost a year ago for a trip we were taking. Initially we did not use cross bars because my vehicle did not have them so we had to latch the bag to the inside of the car doors. I did not like it because all you heard was wind because of the space between the door and the frame. Next trip I purchased the cross bars for the roof and this bag worked perfect. We drove thru Florida rain and none of our stuff got wet, so not sure how other reviewers items we soaked. Only thing I can think of is that the bag wasn’t zipped and the flap wasn’t folded down right.

NicholasNicholas: Great value for the money, easy setup and tear down. Weather resistant, no water seeped through at all. Wind noise is a little much though may be how I packed it and to be expected.
Recommend a blanket or roof mat underneath as it did scratch my roof a little. User error.

Mrs. S. TerryMrs. S. Terry: Needed extra space for uni trip twice a year so didn’t want expensive roof box . Looked around quite a bit, were cheaper ones, but they appeared to be flimsy. This one is good quality materiel , that I don’t think will tear. The attachments also seem to be strong, easy to fasten on to existing roof bars on the car. We have done one 3 hour motorway trip with it full, it felt secure, did not move at all. It didn’t rain, so can’t comment other than to say it looks thoroughly waterproof. So far, am really pleased and would recommend.

Tony: It worked. It held all of our stuff. Kept it dry. I will say I was very surprised how much noise it made on the highway. When we first started picking up speed my wife and I were convinced it was going to go flying onto the highway. Over about 50 mph it was so loud you couldn't listen to the radio, you couldn't hear each other talk, just noise. I used noise canceling headphones for awhile, probably not legal driving, but even that barely took care of it. It was definitely louder than being in the last seat on an airplane. I tried taping everything up, and put some tightly folded paper towels under the straps. I messed with it at every stop on our road trip and that was the best I ever got it. I didn't have any issues with leaking during the rain, in the car or on the luggage. Everything stayed dry. For the price, it got the job done. However, if you're driving for more than a couple hours I would probably invest in a hardtop, or at least some ear plugs.

Beachwood99: Bought the 9 cubic square foot bag.I attached this to my little Chevy spark that has no roof rack or tracks of any kind and drove it across country. The bag stayed put for the whole trip and was a life saver. It held up in the hot desert and the humid rain. The bag made noise throughout the drive but was bearable and to be expected. We fit two large duffel bags, one back packing backpack, one school size backpack, a 4 person tent, three totes with squish able small items and had room to put in a blanket. I could of possibly fit a slightly larger bag but I'm not sure if this size was recommended due to weight or other reasons. The bag easily fit on the roof with room to spare on all sides. The car pretty much drove the same with the bag on the car, and it freed up space in my car for animal crates.

Jason C. Rogers: This carrier worked perfectly on top of our Prius C on our move from Virginia to Arizona.I read a ton of reviews before making a purchase because this was our first car top carrier. I took all the advice on making sure it is zipped all the way, zipper is covered and not facing the wind, put the bag on top of the car and then load it. We drove through all kinds of crazy weather...cold, heavy rain storms, snow, and heat. Nothing got wet or damaged at all. The carrier did it's job and did it well. It was a little loud, but tolerable. I mean, what do you expect when you have a big bag on top of your car? If I ever need another carrier, I would purchase another one of these. They are priced reasonably and work well.

Catherine: If you do not have a roof rack and have a smaller to mid size car and are just looking for extra room on your trips, I must say this is a great buy! We packed tons in this, clothes, hygiene products, coats etc….. and I could have still filled it with more. Made it a comfy ride for our trip with plenty of extra room in our small car for us and the kids. Would defiantly recommend, just ensure you read the instructions properly and you’ll be fine!
