Changing batteries is a bit of a pain because the two sides are pressed together very tightly. After removing the two screws holding the sides together I had to use out a pry tool to get them apart. But that might be a good thing because it improves water proofing.
It takes 1 each CR2032 battery and 3 each LR44 batteries. Pay attention to how the batteries face when you take them out... put them in facing wrong direction and it won't work.
