RN turned FNP: UPDATE: when cabin (& batteries) warmed up, it worked. Alkaline batteries stop working in the cold. Just a warning for vacation homes. Thank God. Didn't want to destroy 50 yeah old knotty pine cabinet.
I installed this on a cabinet in my cabin that I use as a rental. I put brand new batteries in. I used it once a week for a couple months. The cabin's been closed up for about 5 months now. I went up and used my fob to try to unlock it nothing. I got out another fob and tried to unlock it. No noise. The cabinet is locked. This means the battery is dead and it's supposed to unlock itself when it goes dead but guess what it's locked and I'm screwed. For this reason I suggest not buying this unless the seller can supply some way to access entry into the cabinet. This is how story answered question "Hello. Travis: I bought this to keep my girlfriend's dang kids away from my beloved oreos. Now as I'm struggling to contain my evil stepdad excitement for the moment when they discover the pantry no longer opens freely, I've decided to focus my thoughts on the device that made this dream come true.

With the materials used in this device there's no doubt that a sufficiently firm yank on the cabinet door would destroy this lock, but the lock in my opinion is far more useful for the psychological hopelessness induced by being restricted by an unknown force, rather than the actual magnitude of physical restriction. Could my 9 year old stepdaughter liberate my oreos through a show of brute force? I absolutely believe so, but she doesn't know that and that is key.

Installation was a little tricky. I could see where anyone who doesn't generally work with their hands might get frustrated. If you take your time and measure things out carefully you shouldn't have any problem getting things to line up. Keep in mind that the screws are driven about a centimeter deep into your cabinetry, be careful not to poke through your cabinet doors. I had to leave one of the screws out of the latching...

JFJF: The media could not be loaded.  Easy to use
The hard part is lining the lock up with the latch. I ended up tracing a template of the latch (in the locked position on the lock) onto a piece of wood. I then shut the door and using chalk makes where the template lined up. I then used the template to mark the latches screw holes.
The lock it's self is easy to programe and when closed is nice and tight with no movement.

It takes a bit to install. Trying to find exact match up etc.
I could set up 2/3 fobs. The 3 would not set up but the card does. I’m very happy with it
