Jeanette: My son is finding it very helpfull

beansmorocco: I've been doing a lot of reading from multiple sources about addiction and recovery recently. One common theme in most modern views on addiction is that the brain is trained into addiction by underlying causes resulting in maladaptive behaviors, and that it can be retrained (rewired) out of addiction. This is some very hopeful science. Rewired is just one of many "programs" that have the potential to help in recovering from addiction whether one is going to attempt to self-heal or use this with professional assistance. One thing is certain when it comes to addiction recovery: There is no one size fits all solution, and many different ways to skin the cat.

Chad Connolly: I am torn, it's good insight into what we should have as addicts and alcoholics, but I've been to rehab a few times more than a few and it feels like notes from rehab, theres a chapter then at end page of questions which are optional, to me some don't pertain to the chapter and I do them to make it feel completed but it feels like it's just touching surface on topics and moving on I wouldn't suggest it unless just looking for good ideas on what you need but it's not bad just not a huge insight as others and a very thin book, and if you've been to rehab you dont need this book just look at your notes.....there's many better out there

Jon: Rewired by Erica Spiegelman provides a practical approach to addiction recovery, focusing on the recovery of body, mind and spirit through focal points such as: self-care, gratitude, time management, and my personal favorite-- authenticity.  The author clearly communicates pragmatic addiction recovery philosophies, making it suitable for both newly recovering addicts and seasoned veterans.  She connects to the reader on a personal level, revealing her personal hardships with addiction, triumphs, and success with helping other addicts through her private practice.  She commands an authentic tone that demonstrates her knowledge of addiction recovery, which corresponds to her practical approach that can be applied to a variety of life situations. Furthermore, her "Real Recovery" stories showcase the success of her clients and provides hope to the reader that addiction can be defeated.  This book provides the reader with a strong foundation of recovery philosophies, both wisdom and clinical based knowledge of addiction, and practical methodologies that can not only benefit a recovering addict, but any person in life.

Kell: I really am so glad I found this book. It has benefitted a love one in recovery immensely, as well as myself, a non-addict but looking to improve my outlook and my anxieties. This book is honestly written, genuine, and feels good to read. The author really is a caring person and pours all her knowledge and experience into this book to benefit anyone in need. It also offers questions and meditations to help you explore your feelings and behaviours on each topic. I will be buying and reading anything from this author and looking forward to her next book. If you’re considering this book, just go for it - it will benefit anyone who wants to improve their way of living no matter if they are an addict or not.

K Soze: This was a great book. I read the whole thing and just to keep it fresh and drive the message home, i read a chapter to myself every night.

It has exercises and questions in it to help solidify the lessons it teaches you. You will walk away from this book feeling good about yourself. On a positive path and rebuilding your life, relationships, career, etc.

One of the biggest selling points for me is in comparison to AA and the Big Book, it seems much more modern, and without the religious indoctrination. While spirituality might help, and while AA and the big book commonly refers to it as your conception of God, they just seem to focus very very heavily on it, which can turn away an agnostic/atheist. This book handles many of the same things in a completely non religious way. It will help to instill spirituality in a truly non denominational/religious way. I think this is a great book for a younger generation that may not be so hung on on God and religion.

I highly recommend it to any addict, friend of an addict, someone still using, someone who just quit or even someone who has been sober for years. This book is a pathway to being a happier person and being...

JOHN ARCURI: I have read many self help books and this one is by far my favorite. I hate to read, but found this book extremely easy to read and enjoyable. It was one of those books that I could not put down, I just wanted to keep reading. It has helped me so much, that I wanted to share with anyone else who may be going through this crazy world of addiction that this author will ground you in peace and tranquility. She gives you a common sense approach emphasizing core principles of life that are just so easy to follow, that you walk away saying " I can do this ". Knowing that she is recovering from addiction herself and is now a doctor in mental health counseling, lends credibility to her story, and makes me think that if she could recover than I can also. She is only one of many I thank daily and I pray that this review will help at least one other person who is struggling with the disease of addiction. God bless.

Jake Bamford: New way to look at my addiction and what might be behind it. Not the same old recovery bs but a straightforward quick read with some incredible insight and wisdom. There is something to be said for learning to be more authentic. I think a lot of addicts have this problem because we get so used to trying to make sure everyone thinks we are sober and doing well and ya I'm doing great and all this bs when on the inside I was breaking apart. I need a lot of different outlooks and perspectives when it comes to trying to treat my addiction or should I just say keep it at bay really as nothing as worked for me yet and it's not because I don't try or want it. This is an epidemic and a disease that is becoming more and more prevalent and fatal and something has to be some. Between us, or the the addicts and alcoholics and the professionals, and the government need to come together and figure out how to beat this because I think it's going to take lots of research and patience but with time I think it will become easier to treat. Medications that they have out that are condemned sometimes like methadone and others are what I believe is going to be the end of addiction one day. Once they...

Leda Anne: Would I buy again
Yes.
Erica's book is fantastic. The organization of topics make is a great resource to return to by chapter and section heading. Each chapter finishes with a series of questions to work through related to the topic. The structure makes it easy to review and apply after finishing the book. Erica has a unique style of writing where she shares relevant personal information to make the reader feel as though you have met her, yet it is balanced by her professional knowledge and work in the addictions field. This is a must read for professionals, addicts, friends and family members impacted by addiction.
