D: Overall, I love this book. Very informative. However, throughout the book, I kept finding myself thinking, "ok great, but how do I implement these things?" I wanted examples. Instead, I mostly felt like I was being persuaded to use restorative practices--something I'm already on-board with. I want to see examples over persuasion.

TXgrl4evr: This is an easy read with excellent strategies for creating a school community where all can succeed. Students come to school with more than academic needs and we can create a safe space for them to learn ways to navigate this world with all the baggage some of them may carry. Every behavior has a cause and every student is a person who deserves our best.

Paige: Perhaps it's a lack of exposure to other classroom management texts, but this one is easily one of the best reads. It's a great guide full of interesting concepts that I had never considered before. This book REALLY changed my perspective on a lot of things and I find myself more comfortable and at peace with the way I interact with my students. It's a great read. Gives a lot for you to think about and consider. Even if you're not going to be a teacher or educator in some form or fashion, it's a great guide for raising a generation of thoughtful, intuitive and compassionate people.

Nessa: Highly recommended read for teacher, and even parents. Great book with a lot information. Includes plenty of research based findings. More teachers need to be using these practices instead of the current reward or punishment system that does little to teach kids how to actually behave, nor does it encourage kids to make amends for their mistakes. The methods also work really well into a trauma informed school/classroom.
