Christine Vulopas: I first bought Onward, and then ordered this workbook later - and I'm glad I did! While initially a bit daunting, I have worked through many, but not all, of the activities. I have found the activities useful both personally and professionally. I also joined the Onward Book Club through Bright Morning, which acted as my accountability partner - it provided a time for both reflection and conversation with other educators - I highly recommend!

Cary: This workbook is transformational! This is a terrific tool to build your resiliency, both professionally and personally. There are activities for every day of the day. I focus on a habit/disposition a month and do a few activities, but there are so many to choose. I have used the activities individually and with a group of educators for an Onward book study I facilitate. We are in the 12th month of this journey and loving every minute of it. This workbook is an investment that you will be coming back to year and year again.

Branch Wyatt: I found this book to offer reflection to help me understand my values and purposes better to work with others. It is designed with monthly reflections and activities. So as an educator, I really like the design set up. As a coach, I might need to selectively choose the reflection or activity for the month as it might be a little overwhelming to my teachers. I wish had worked through the book prior to 2020 so I could have implemented some things to help my colleagues build emotional resilience too.

Tammy Fisher: I originally purchased this book for work I was doing on adult SEL with Committee for Children. Then I had to recommend it to my staff at my Pre-K to 8th grade school as summer book club! Then a core group of us who loved it so much and didn't want to rush it, decided to use it just as designed: reading one chapter a month and digging into the thoughtful, concrete approaches with her workbook as well (school picked up that one!). WE all love this book - it has brought wisdom, wit, challenge, and direction in a very tough year. As a school counselor, instructional coach, and adjunct professor working with graduate students in school counseling, this is a must read for supporting yourself and other adults in our evolving and demanding educational world.

Zipster Zeus: Interesting workbook that offers good support for teachers on a range of fronts. It's a sound resource to develop mental resilience with a number of activities to try out, simply explained and clearly presented. As such it's not a 'self-help' edict in the usual sense [and which fill many bookshelves looked through once or twice, then left to gather dust], but a manual for diving into and working through in a practical and effective programme that perfectly compliments the preceding Onward book.

Amazon Customer: Know WHAT to do to help educators do such challenging work is a huge first step, but knowing HOW to do what you know to be right and true and good can be its own challenge. That is exactly what The Onward Workbook does -- it gives the tools to support your own resilience and that of others. Activities offered provide a rich variety of meet the needs of differing groups and individuals: some require a moment while others take longer; some can be done individually and others in groups of differing sizes; all styles are included ~ reading, writing, viewing, artistic.
As a school leader I appreciate the fact that every page of the workbook may be reproduced without copyright violations, meaning I can purchase copies of Onward for each staff member and a single copy of the workbook during this tight budget era.
