Robert SkuratonRobert Skuraton: I bought these as a replacement for a lost set of keys for a 2010 Ford Focus.
It’s a little daunting when you need to replace a chip key and programmed fob. You are at the mercy of the dealer or going to a locksmith, either way you know your going to pay a premium $$$.
After calling two locksmith and a local ace hardware (yes, they order and sell these sort of cart keys) I received 3 quotes from $185.00 to $225.00 for 1 key cut and programmed and 1 fob programmed I decided that it was worth the $20.00 to give it a shot myself.
I looked on Amazon and not only found replacement fobs and keys but I found out through the reviews that Ford built fob programming software into their vehicles and it sounded pretty simple to do.
The package was delivered on time, packaged well and in good shape.
When I opened the bags, each bag has a card with a website for programming procedures for hundreds of vehicles. I was able to download and print a set of fob programming instructions for my 2010 Focus but it turns out the YouTube video on their site has a lot more detail and was easy to follow.
I read in one of the reviews that the 2032 button batteries...

Alek Smirnov: if you only have 1 key, programming requires a scanner or such.

Two E's: This worked perfectly. I would have had to pay $600 to have a locksmith replace 2 keys/remotes instead of this fantastic deal kit.
Now, the fun stuff. To program the car to accept a transponder (the chip in the key that enables you to start the car), you can do it two ways-- one is to use the typical end-user instructions that requires two working keys to program a 3rd, or the other is to use an OBD tool and special software to make programming changes to the car directly.
I only had one working key-- but I also had a second plastic housing from another key which had broken off-- which means I had a second transponder chip but no second key. My car still trusted the transponder from the broken key. Here's what I did:
1. I used painters tape on the good key and cut the tape with a razor to match. I then peeled the tape off and placed it on one of the blank keys from this kit. I then used a dremmel and some tiny precision files, and a digital caliper to confirm measurements to clone the shape from the tape onto the key blank. I now had a second key with an unrecognized transponder. I verified I could open the door and turn the ignition (but not start the engine)...

Amazon Customer: The keys arw worthless unless you're just looking to have something to unlock the doors. They dont have chips so will not work to start the vehicle. The remote are still well worth the price.

Paquito Carretero: Son muy buenos se ven algo frágiles pero cumplen su función, fueron fáciles de programar, aunque ya no tuvieron carga las pilas, tuve que comprar otras, fuera de eso muy bien.

Mavoo's Computing Services: Work as original. Had for short time but no issues at all. Hint when programming key fobs… you turn the key sequence then pair ALL the remotes at once including your old ones at the same time. Don’t do like I did.. key sequence - pair one fob- key sequence- pair second fob. It’s key sequence then pair first, second, third, etc fob. Again, your old/existing fobs as well as new ones all with one key turn sequence.
EDIT: 4/29/22
Found out the hard way but these keys are thicker than regular stock keys. Have a Mercury Grand Marquis and the keys are about the thickness of the Valet key so they will NOT lock/unlock glovebox or trunk remote button. Note: the valet key has same chip and keycut as a "regular key" but is thicker so it will not fit into trunk release or glovebox. Still working otherwise and need to find some way of thinning out keys. Minus one star for that reason.

Jack W Murray: Both the keys and fobs worked perfectly for my 2008 Ford Mustang GT. I had the two keys cut at a local hardware store and used the programming procedure in my manual (or on YouTube) to pair them with my vehicle. The fobs paired just as easily (different procedure but still very simple). Just know that to do this on your own you must have ONE working programmed key to pair the fobs and you must have TWO working programmed keys to pair the new cut keys. I do not know about the longevity of these yet but initially I am very pleased with my purchase.
