charles D. Vallas: Ordered as replacement fobs for my Chevy. The only instructions came on a small card with instructions to go to their website. Went to the site, punched in the appropriate information and was told "no instructions found", then came a prompt to find a locksmith, no thanks. Googled it after that, fobs don't work. Looked up the company; nothing but one star reviews. I spent twenty bucks on absolutely nothing. Don't buy.

Josh: Bought these for my 09 Malibu which needs a locksmith or dealership to program. Took the advice of another buyer on here and put the already programmed electronic guts of the old fobs into the new silicone and casing and it seems to work pretty dang good. Saves me a possible pricey trip to the dealership. Thanks for the valuable tip!

Marc Mulkey: Before purchasing these two items I was dreading having to take them to a car dealer to get them programmed. Fortunately, I didn't have to. My wife and I both have one of these items for our car. On mine, all of the emblems (door lock, unlock, start car, etc.) were rubbed off so I wanted a new one. On my wife's fob, all of the emblems were still there, but it had become very difficult to get the doors to unlock.
What I ended up being able to do was to open all of them up, and just switch the computer portions out of our old fobs into the new fobs. My fob now looks brand new and works great, and my wife's fob works 100% now as well. All I can figure on hers is that the rubber portion (that all of the emblems are printed on) on her old fob was worn down or something where the "unlock" button was.
So, all in all, this was a fantastic buy at a great price!

fiv: There really is no easy way to do this yourself. I even thought about buying the Tech2 programming tool here on amazon for about $120, but then GM makes you buy a subscription for $20 for one day to access their server because it's a "security" item. I have a feeling this is the last GM product I'll ever buy - sure the parts are cheap, buy nothing lasts and they make you interact with the dealers for totally unnecessary things in order to boost their bottom line. I ended up selling the car with the fobs unprogrammed, hopefully they worked as good as they looked.
