kev: Seems to have worked on my 07 elantra. However when I plugged it in the 1st time a constant beep and red light came from the program. I unplugged and plugged back in and it beeped and got a green light. Held the lock button in for a few seconds and the hazards flashed. Unplugged the programmer and tested the remote.

Andrew6123: Installed the programmer into the OBD port but the programmer had a red light and never went to green. Sold buzzing sound. Called Dorman tech support and they think it was a defective programmer. Returning. Note, that this process requires you to re-program both the new and all existing remotes.

sinclair: On my first order I received and tried to program. Programmer worked good green light ok.
Programed my original key all good, but the new fob would not program at all tried more than once..
I returned item thinking it was a faulty fob. Received replacement and again programmer green light. ok
my old fob that came. with the car was ok put again new Fob not programming at all.
so, in conclusion this Key Fob does not work for 2012 Elantra Touring GLS. It would be a great buy if it worked. as stated.

Shanedman: Vehicle used on: 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT
The programmer itself worked enough to program a spare fob i already had purchased from the Hyundai dealership.
The key fob that was included in this package does NOT work. Will NOT program. Will NOT do anything.

I mainly purchased this item because of the programmer, not the key, but the key still should have worked. I was hoping to have a spare(3rd) working fob, but i guess ill make do with the 2 from the factory.

Note: While programming, the Hyundai keys had no issues being programmed, but the flashing of the lights and/or beep of horn that are apparently supposed to happen, did not. All i got as an indication that the key was programmed was a beep coming from the OBD connector/programmer.
Couldve been a 5 star product review, but ...
Took 1 star due to the directions not being correct about knowing when the programming was done.
Took 1 star for the fact that the included fob does not work.
Overall: 3 stars for the simple fact that it worked to program the hyundai key fobs i already had, and this option was about 60% of the quoted cost at the dealership to program a fob.

George R. Brumder: I rarely leave product reviews, but had to this time. So many sites on the Internet say that key fobs like this cannot be user-programmed (requiring a ~$300 dealer fee), so I was skeptical that this would actually work and was fully prepared to return it. It worked like a charm however. Two important notes: 1) You will need to also reprogram your factory key(s) and you only have a brief time to do so, so make sure you bring it/them with you. 2) The instructions say that you need to hold the lock button until the hazards light flash AND the door locks cycle—on my 2015 base model Hyundai Elantra, the lights flashed but the locks didn’t cycle, but the reprogramming worked. After the lights flashed, they keys didn’t seem to work immediately but took 5 sec. or so to work. But when they did work, they work perfectly. The problem with this is that I thought they didn’t program correctly, so I had to do it over again INCLUDING the factory key, so I used up two of my three allowed uses (probably limited so “professional” car thieves can’t copy dozens of key fobs). Amazon Customer: This worked for my 2015 Elantra, but had to follow the advice from another commentator on leaving the door open, and locking it before plugging things in. The instructions did not say to do it. It also does not program other aftermarket keys if anyone was wondering. Not a knock against it, just for those who were curious. The range for replacement key sucks, like maybe 10 feet vs the 40 to 50 you would get on the original key. That being said, the cost of a oem key fob would be 4 to 5 times this so the trade off makes sense to me.

McBru: After the first try, pressing a lock/unlock button set off the alarm on my Elantra. Started to get worried since you are limited to 3 attempts. For some reason, it worked perfect on the second attempt. It looks and functions the exact same as the original key. I deducted 1 star because it is limited to 3 attempts and the price is a bit too high given it is based on old technology.
