Amazon Customer: Does the job. Well built. Works great... especially love the spool stop. Not hard to install, would recommend attaching it to a stud (only needed two of the four holes).

SB49SB49: While installing the screws into the studs in my garage, I managed to snap two of them clean off. I was using a 3/8" ratchet which shouldn't give me enough torque to do so. The screws weren't snug to the mounting plate yet so it was only the resistance of the wood. I bought a new set of screws and they worked fine.

I wouldn't use the supplied screws. Even if you mount the reel successfully, they could snap unexpectedly and cause lots of damage and/or injury.

I haven't used the reel yet so I can't comment on the functionality.

Brandon: Got this because I was tired of coiling up a hose in a bucket. Mounted this to a piece of plywood with 3/8” bolts and t-nuts. The reel works great, doesn’t seem to leak any air.

The only problem is that the hose can kink a little between where the hose attaches to the reel and where you bolt it to the reel. A newer hose was a little stiffer and worked a little better.

One of the pictures on the product page shows the hose with a metal coil around the hose there to keep it from kinking. Mine didn’t come with one of those.

Thompson: I bought these two air hose reels (50' and 100') for extension hoses that were forever getting dumped on the garage floor They were simple to assemble, and simple to mount to plywood sheets that I can carry or hang from a peg. I also put 3' swivel pigtails on the air inlet to make them a little easier to gang. Since I'm old and they are a little heavy with the hose on them, I may put hooks on the plywood to hang them on a dolly when I move them around. The plywood I used is Baltic birch, and I put a couple coats of spar varnish on that after I took the picture.

It has been a few days since I put these together, but as I recall, they both have all 3/8" fittings. It doesn't really matter. I've gotten a good laugh out of all the shocked reviews of competing products with 1/4" fittings. The pressure drop across a short quarter-inch fitting is totally miniscule compared to the drop along a 3/8" hose, even at reasonably high flow rates, that it makes no practical difference. And most prosumer air tools are 1/4" anyhow.

Other issues: (1) This review is for the 50' reel, and I copied it from the 100' reel. The main photo for this one shows a flexible pigtail on the inlet...

Bingo: Good luck getting anything out of the instructions. Very vague. No illustrations that are helpful. Seems to be well built. If I ever get it figured out I’ll update this review.
Update:
Installed it right beside my woodworking table. It’s heavy so you may need an extra hand or two. After getting it mounted I installed my new hybrid hose (from the big blue big box store) and it works like a dream. This thing has mounting screws that are monsters so get out the ratchet wrench’s. Never had any experience with hose reels before but I figured it out. Installed in about 20 minutes (not counting the 10 minutes unraveling the hose). I think it will be in my shop for a long time. Now, I need to update that old compressor... and there’s tat new table saw I needed forever.... thanks for looking.
