Kindle reader: Stopped reeling after 1 month. Customer service responded to my email quickly. In process of a replacement now. Until it broke, it was working great! Good quality hose. Update: got the replacement. High hopes for this one.

Alex Lipowich: This item rocks. I cheaped out at first and bought a HF version, spent time drilling through thick metal on my lift to install it.... the HF broke with first two unspooling. I mounted this device easily by salvaging the HF frame already bolted to my lift, and some angle iron from HD.
One tip, unscrewing two screws releases the mount bracket from spool to facilitate mounting .

Aaron: Really impressed so far. I’m using this in my garage. Light duty use but I’m quite impressed. Soft hose, durable housing, no leaking, and what appears to be a decent quality ratchet system.

Thom: Better than expected. hose is rubber feeling, but seems thinner and more flexible. No leaks and hefty feel to retract unit and spring. Easy to mount. Remove 2 screws to remove the bracket, mount the bracket, then re-attach it to the body of the unit. It is wide and will not swing the full 180 unless mounted with a significant gap between it and wall / ceiling. Retract mechanism works great as does the hose aligner, even when under full air pressure. Very happy so far.

Permaculture Mainer: The first one would not stay deployed and would start retracting on its own. I almost got hit in the face by the end of the hose as I gave up on trying to grab it to stop it. Minutes after opening the box I was packing it back up and logging in to Amazon to return it. That process was so easy! The replacement unit was here a few days later and it works perfectly so far. I am a little leary of it and stay well away from the unit while the hose is deployed. I definitely leave it attached to a tool while the hose is out and I store the hose as soon as I am done. We have kids around and I can see this thing causing injury if one of them decided to give it a tug and it started retracting uncontrolled. Note this appears to be a much better unit than the Harbor Freight unit I compared it to and it's cheaper. Not that I don't get some good deals at Harbor Freight! I'd buy it again.
