Donna D. Plainfield, IL: I did not know this collar existed until my sister gave me one to use. It was like a miracle when I had a foster cat. She was like a new cat when I put this cone on her rather than the normal one of that would provide. She was able to see and function much better and the comfortness was superior and have bought more and recommended this when someone is looking for a cone. It was like a miracle appeared when I used this.

Sam: I never write Amazon reviews but this cone made our lives so much easier this week I had to. We just got our female kitten (14 weeks, 5 lbs) spayed, and she wouldn’t tolerate the soft Elizabethan cone from the vet - she kept walking backwards, swinging her head around, banging into things and generally stressing out (and stressing us out!). We tried a onesie, tried one of the “donuts,” and she got them both off within a minute. But this cone - she was immediately cool with it and legitimately hasn’t even tried to take it off in 12 hours of wear. I think because it’s semi-transparent and doesn’t protrude so far past her face, it doesn’t have the immediate stress effect of the big opaque one from the vet, and it’s not as heavy or restricting as the donut or onesie. It’s also wide so it doesn’t clash with her whiskers, and just rigid enough that it doesn’t deform and squash against her face. Big fan! Very thankful this product exists.

clrtwallace: This cone worked well after my cat had his eye removed. I was worried it might not be “tall” enough to prevent him scratching at his eye, but it was actually perfect. When my cat drank water from his fountain, of course the cloth around the edge would get wet, but it dried very quickly after I would simply squeeze the excess water out with a paper towel. When wet food got into that cloth, I simply sponges that area with warm water and it came right out. Although this is stiff/sturdy enough to prevent them from bending it and scratching where they shouldn’t, it was still flexible enough for my cat to lay down and sleep comfortably. Overall. Im quite impressed with this cone. With all that in mind, i wasn’t expecting the level of depression my cat suffered while wearing the cone, but I suspect that would be the case with any cone he was forced to wear. I would take it off of him as often as I could, and only when he was in my lap. During that lap time, he was able to clean himself and scratch other areas, while my hand blocked him from scratching his eye. I think that time with the cone off helped him tremendously.

Katt13: Used on cat with tail wound. Love that it’s clear; he was much more accepting of this collar. The soft fabric around the neck was a plus, and the snaps were so much easier to deal with than a tie.

We had an entire wardrobe of collars and donuts, as he had to wear one while we waited for surgery, and then during recovery. (About six weeks, total.) This one was essential during dressing changes and right after surgery. We usually chose softer collars and donuts for his daily living, until the dressing finally came off, and he could reach the tail with those on. He was able to function very well with it on, but it’s obviously not as easy on the cat as something soft.

I’ll happily use it again if any of our animals have an injury, especially something a soft collar would allow them to reach.

Tina V: This product was amazing to begin with, but after several months of daily use the foam around the neck area has started to wear out. I have tried a few different cones on my cat, and this one is exceptional in terms of comfort and fit adjustment. Again, the only con is that the neck fitting is just soft and droopy now so it no longer holds its shape. Definitely better for short term use as the one I purchased started to wear out at the 2.5 month mark.

A. Shiley: I don't know why 'stretch' is one of the star ratings, that is not what this is supposed to do.

Of course at first, my kittens didn't like it but really in a few minutes were tolerating it. My boy kitten had to wear it for 2 full weeks post surgery and within a few days he would easily allow me to put it back on. I took it off for supervised meals and playtime to give him a break and to allow him to do his cat bathing, while I used my hand to gently cover the surgery location where he was not allowed to lick. He did not always need it off to access his meals, he figured out how to put the cone outside the front of the bowl and put his cute little mouth in the bowl for the food. A couple times the edge got food on it; easily cleaned quickly by hand at the sink with a bit of soap on my finger, then used my fingers to rinse with clear water. It dried by the time I had to put it back on him.

I also ordered a pink one for my girl kitten who got spay surgery at the same time. Same thing as with the boy kitten, I would remove sometimes for supervised cat bathing and playing. At the same time I had her in a body suit, which covered the surgery area fully. In the end, I...

SD: I bought a soft cone and this harder one for my cat who has issues with over grooming, and has licked almost the entire bottom half of her body furless and raw in some areas. I’ve been seeing my vet often to try and diagnose the issue, but in the meantime she was picking away at herself and I decided I would get a cone to try. She liked the soft cone because it was comfortable, but unfortunately she kept managing to open the velcro, so that’s when I decided to try this cone. The button closures are REALLY helpful, and they ensure the cone stays on and can’t be taken off by the cat, and I also appreciate how it’s soft around the neck so there isn’t any plastic digging into her fur. I also like how the cone isn’t ridiculously huge or overbearing, and she can make her way around pretty well. Cones are of course awkward so she’s going to bonk into things here and there, but she is nowhere near as limited or clumsy as I assumed she would be! I would definitely buy this again, or recommend it to anyone who needs a good cone.

S L: My kitten is 8 months old, 3.5 pounds and this size barely fits him. Like other reviewers, I find this fits quite small. He is able to eat and drink without difficulty, and is comfortable sleeping. He has caught his claw in the mesh a few times, so you should keep nails trimmed while wearing the cone.

The quality is good, and the mesh is very convenient. I can clean it easily while he is wearing by wiping it down - and it doesn't absorb water when he licks it or dips it into his drinking water.

Robyn: I use this for my older cat who is on the small side. It's a tiny bit loose but there's no problem with it coming off. I feel it gives her more room to breathe and doesn't make her feel as restricted. The clear(ish) plastic allows her to see, which is always the biggest problem with the vet cones. When they can't see to the side, they are more likely to try to get it off.
You must wash by hand, and it will get somewhat dirty depending on how your cat/dog eats/drinks. But it hasn't been too much of a problem and I've used it for months on and off. My cat tried to take it off the first day but she wasn't too determined. And she has never tried to take it off since. I have to put it on her every few days for a one or two days due to a licking problem. I'm really satisfied with it - vet cones with their frosted and hard plastic are so much worse. Bonus, it's cute and pink just like her. :)

Jennifer KJennifer K: I just have to say what a wonderful collar this is. When i brought this into the vet for my kitten after her spay all the vet technicians could not get over how cute and well made it was. They went as far as saying that it was the best one they have ever seen. Kitten has had it on for 5 days now, even though she does get in the way of her adventures. it totally prevents her from licking herself. She hasn't been able to take it off, and really after 24 hours with it on got quite used to it, she even uses it to hold her head while she naps sometimes. I love how its snap button adjustable, which made me very comfortable in buying this without being too sure on the size. Kitten is 7 months old (purchased small ) and it fit on the middle size. The only downside to this product i found was the button to snap it in are a bit heavy which always bring the cone's buttons right in front of her face. Make them clear or lighter then u will have a perfect product. Would absolutely buy again and recommend to friends. I never write reviews but i feel so strongly about this cone of shame, its made the whole stressful spay process much smoother.
