Pat: The size was not a surprise after reading other reviews. It is quite bright but dims to a perfect low light setting. Using it outside now for hot tub time but will use it for any activity outside where you might want a flashlight. We live in the country with no street lights so this is perfect. Great item for the price. Would recommend.

Ace J.Ace J.: I have been using this lantern in all our summer camps this year. Size is just appropriate for it to be handy and lightweight, but nevertheless the brightness of light it emits is blinding. Something you should have specially on night-time outdoor activities. It has a USB ports you can use to charge your phones and other devices which is great as it serves as an additional powerbank. Also serves well as emergency light during blackouts.

Amazon Customer: So the first one I bought had a defect (no matter what I did the light wouldn't stay on). I emailed the product company directly and no questions they sent me a new one (zero hassle). Not that you should expect the same but if you do....
Anyway the 2nd one sent to me I used all summer/ fall on the back deck playing board games with the kids and it is perfect. NO issues. Stays on. Has multiple brightnesses. One light is def bright enough for games in the evening. Thank you!

S T: I bought two of these a couple of months ago in readiness for winter. We get a lot of power outages where I live - semi-rural - and trees are forever bringing power lines down. Happened again after the storm last night, so today no power and sub-station no chance of immediate repair as it was knee-deep in water! I already had 2 camping lanterns, but when I switched these LED lanterns on - my word, what a difference! Couldn't be more pleased and I shall be buying more.

Zyzzybalubah: I bought this lantern for emergency use, and for camping. It's a great little lantern! It's far lighter and safer than my Coleman lantern, and on high it seems brighter. It recharges with a regular USB to micro-USB cable, which isn't common but isn't hard to find a replacement if you lose it.

It claims to also operate as a battery bank for recharging phones and things, but its capacity is laughably small for that purpose. It'll recharge a phone once, assuming that it starts at full charge. It might as well not have that feature. Honestly if I were in a situation where I was forced to recharge my phone from my lantern I'd just turn my phone off and keep the lantern charged.

Pros:
- lightweight
- compact
- bright
- far safer than a Coleman lantern

Cons:
- USB mini charging port is annoying. It would be better if it was USB-C or regular USB.
- hideously harsh bright white light when on high
