circawdm: I have two 5 foot tall plants in very large (heavy) containers I put out in good weather on my balcony. The problem was that in strong storms with high winds they got blown over, making a mess, and due to their weight (especially when wet), it was really hard to get them upright again and in their containers. I strapped three of these cords at different levels around my wrought iron balcony railing and the pots at three levels. I tried moving the pots and they aren't going ANYWHERE unless maybe we had 80-100 mph winds, in which case I might not be around to enjoy them anyway! :p
I am so glad to have solved this problem. Having to try and drag two heavy pots up next to my balcony wall to protect them every time we had a bad storm was killing my back. These will take heat or cold and are of excellent quality.
