ThomasH: I bought some of these to replace a bunch I bought for holding on a boat tarp. The previous ones after about 6 months of occasional use( I usually only cover it when a storm comes and store it inside in winter)began to flake .I did not get them here. I guess it is paint to make them white. These are non paint and are much better quality. Also more expensive, but the other ones are going in the trash soon.

Norman: Purchased these bungee cords at a much higher cost than the ones I had bought at Dollarama. The quality is far superior and you can tell by stretching them that they are made to last. I can't comment on long term performance at this point as I just received them but they are rated for marine environment which is what I am using them for, to secure my kayak to the storage rack which is on my dock.
