Shal: This is a very entertaining read and all the better if you're a Londoner and around the same age as Ray, as I am.
If you don't like bad language, don't bother with this book, my view is that Ray tells his life story as he'd tell it it to you in his local boozer over a pint or two. To be honest it wouldn't be believable any other way.
I loved it as it was a much needed piece of nostalgia in a politically incorrect snapshot in time.
Ray's a real 'diamond geezer' and as such fast approaching the endangered species list.
Taking all this into account,
you'll either love it or hate it, I loved it.

C. K. Dexter Haven: Punctuation/spelling issues all throughout the book. Hard to read at times. Hard to believe amazon was the seller.
Besides ALL that...Great story! Winstone is the Man!

Stefan Pellens: Ray is a very entertaining author himself. His biography is so fresh, honest and closer to reality, than most of the other memoirs, I've read in recent years. P.s. Micky if you read this, f... you ;-)

anthea taylor: As someone born in London and being of the same generation, I enjoyed this book as I could relate to Ray's extended family and friends, feeling that some of these same characters peopled my childhood and teenage years.
Overall an enjoyable look at London as it was and probably sadly never will again.

sue from barking: Love this book-----took me back to the east end I remember. Thanks Ray........how about a fiction next. With your life experience and turn of a phrase I think it would be brilliant.
