jillyrad: I love these overall but I put one of them in the dishwasher and it took the luster and shine off the knife. Now it’s just a dull grey. The others have stayed nice. Love to support a local company as well.

Sheri P: Except for the great reviews, I wouldn't have considered buying this Rada starter knife set. First, I'd never heard of Rada. Second, the knives cost so little, they couldn't be good quality, right? Wrong! These are the best knives I've ever owned, the best I've ever used. My husband and I have been using Rada knives for just over a year, and we are just as happy now as a year ago, when we bought the set.
To eat healthy, we make most meals from scratch, and chop around five different vegetables each time we cook. Our favorite knives, the ones we use most, need their edges touched up about every two weeks with a "honing" steel.
But actually, experts advice honing knives every time you use them, or at least once a week if you cook three or more times a week. Just 2-3 swipes per side only takes about about 30 seconds per knife and keeps them perpetually sharp. So easy, but I admit that I don't think about it until a knife starts to feel dull.
Another piece of expert advice is NOT to wash knives in the dishwasher. Between dishwasher detergent (too abrasive) and from "knocking around" during a wash cycle, knives lose their sharp edges. I actually heed this advice, washing...

Brenda Brown: Great price. Exactly what we were expecting. Knives were very sharp but after a couple of weeks using the smallest paring knife every day, I’m finding it not as sharp as it was when I first got it. I thought they were supposed to be sharp for a long time. A bit disappointed about that.

Stewart: Sharp Knives which work well with the Rada sharpener. If you like heavy knives, don't buy these - they are lightweight. I would strongly advise NOT to buy the aluminum handle knives as they are a pain to keep tarnish free. A cook is not always in a position to clean and dry knives immediately after use. The aluminum handles need to be kept dry and cleaned ASAP or they will tarnish badly and stain your hands. Purchase the black resin handle knives and save yourself a lot of frustration. Why put-up with the extra bother? The cheese knife is only machined on one side so it cuts cheese at an angle. I don't like it. I would suggest a different Rada set with something other than the cheese knife. Sharp knives should never be washed in a dishwasher as this can dull them over time.

Scott Louis: I brought a set of these for my Grandmother's kitchen - where a good knife would get destroyed by her personal care assistants. Great set. I'm not one to exclaim about stamped tools of any sort, but these are great for what they are. The price is good, the quality is good, sharpness is good-enough, and the cheese-knife actually works fantastic!
They kept their edge for almost a year now, over ceramic plates and hard-plastic cutting boards, and I just took my Spyderco Tri-Angle to them, and a few passes on the coarse brown rods, and a few passes over the fine white rods, and then stropped them with 400-micron compound for a few minutes each and they easily pop my arm hair off. I do wish the santoku style knife was a bit longer, but it's adequate for the small portions and foods being prepared.
10/10, would recommend for most home kitchen use. I also have the 10" bread knife, which is absolutely the best bread knife I've ever used (and I've used a lot of "expensive," bread knives over the years.)
One con, is that if you have large hands like I do, the handles are a bit short, and thin. I'd like to see them about 1/2" to and 1/2" longer, and about 40% thicker.

Dusty: I have been looking for some knives for my wife since she basically had NO decent knives. I did a ton of research on various knives and was looking at getting her a good brand name knife. I looked at all the big ones Henckels, Shun, RH Forschner, Wusthof, Global etc... I even looked at a few deals I found on Ginsu (insert mockery and laughter from professionals against the overly commercialized knife brand here :-)...) I'm not saying any of these knives are bad in any way, they each server their purpose and every person (and person's hand) is different, that's why these brands have been around for so long.
I had to consider my wife though... She's not big on spending $400 on a set of knives that she has to send off (or take somewhere) to be properly maintained/sharpened, and a lot of times, doesn't want to spend her time after preparing food, hand washing the knives. Well, my mom (and several other co-worker's moms) have had Rada knives for most of their lives and swear by them. The biggest issue I had with them was the handles... I didn't particularly care for them myself... Then I found they had a new black composite type handle, specifically designed to throw in the...
