Kate Hepburn: This book clearly illustrates many horse behaviors which we observe on a daily basis but may be trivializing or misinterpreting. The communication ladders showing horse responses &signals are especially helpful references to aide the horse owner in understanding the language of the horse.

Nina Ryan: I have a rescue Mustang cross, and learning more about equine body language has helped and continues to help me immeasurably. The writing is clear, as are the photos, the charts truly map the language of horse's body signals and to understand horses better is to be better with horses is to love horses better. I will read this book over and over, and I regularly return to sections when I am uncertain what my horse is telling me about her mood, the situation, my handling - or a combination of all three !! I am hugely grateful to the wonderful author for her research and for the gift that her book is for those of us who never tire of working to be better with our horses. Horses are about relationships, on the ground, and under saddle, and this book offers accurate directions how to build those great relationships. It's worth every penny....

Silberlied: Must have to anyone with horses! It really breaks down elements of horse language into something we can easily understand, and focuses on calming behaviors used to diffuse tension. For example, a horse turning her head away from us is just trying to be polite and diffuse potential conflict, but I believe we too often mistake it for avoidance and try to correct it instead of reciprocating. Changes the way you interact with your horses for the better!

Cliente Amazon:

Mrs. G. Langridge: An excellent book for all those seeking to understand horses. Many people miss the subtle sings horse give when they are afraid, frustrated or just a little anxious. We need to be very observant and this book explains all those telltale signs that the horse may not be happy and content.

Rational Velvet: OK book for people who want to build on their knowledge to better understand and communicate with their horse. Sadly there are several similar books on the market right now, and each book has only a small section of truly fresh ideas. Conflicts in many areas with other contemporary books on the same subject. One lists a behaviour as stressful and "bad" and the other lists it is relaxation and "good". None of them list a view from the middle considering the other view points. Not sure if this is a safe book to give as a gift. I was OK buying it, reading it and comparing it to other books I've read. I can make up my own mind. Parts of the book are very good, many things to consider. Given to someone without open discussion could seem like you are telling someone that their training methods are "bad". I offered to give this book to a horse breeder/trainer when I was done with it and she declined. Not judging that - just stating that she said she did not want to read it. Had I given it to her as a well meaning gift, I would have closed off more communication than opened.
