Amazon Customer: Bought this to install can lights in our movie room. It worked beautifully, cutting the drywall as expected and accumulating the dust underneath without it going everywhere. I hated to buy a tool for a one-time job, but it really made things so much easier that it was worth it. May find a use for it at some later time as well, as the blades are adjustable and can cut a wide range of holes. The tool was of good quality and the plastic was thick and durable. Overall a great product.

CARLO ORNAGHI: La semplicità di regolazioni

Henry N: I do a lot of renovation/handyman work and this product is great for that. I do a lot of electrical work and use this for adding recessed lights, adding chandeliers/fans, adding lights. I do have to say this product is pretty expensive, but it will save you a lot of time and cleanup once you get it setup. Many of the issues people have been having seem to be either wrong setup or using the wrong speed.

My biggest gripe with this product is actually the case. It's blow molded and the slot for the blades is set at an odd distance that is rarely used for anything. 6 1/8, 4 1/8, 4 inches are the most common cutouts for electrical work, they should have molded the case for any of those lengths.

Other than that, it's a great product if you make a lot of similar sized holes in things like plaster/drywall.

Michael: One of the cutters was put on incorrectly at the factory so I had to change that before using. The cutting process is relatively rough and a bit hard to regulate the blade penetration. I cut 6 holes with a 6.25" diameter. Of the six holes I drilled, only one had smooth paper on the face of the gyp board. The others were torn up to the point of needing patch work to look okay. The catch pan worked very well and very little dust and debris fell during the cutting process. Overall not a fantastic experience but it got the job done.

antattack: This is one of those tools that I will only ever use on one day- But it's worth acquiring anyway.

When installing recessed lighting, accuracy matters. This tool delivers the necessary accuracy. It's simple to learn to use.

I was able to cut install eight recessed lights in a day using this tool. If I'd tried to cut the plaster ceiling with a carpenters knife or a handheld jigsaw, the project would have taken much longer. It would have been uncomfortable working overhead. It would have been messy. The results could have been... less than adequate.

Instead, I was able to accurately cut the eight holes without any problem. The edges of the holes were neat. The tool caught most of the dirt and dust.

Even if I never use it again, this was absolutely good value.

Ben N.Ben N.: I used this tool for 6 holes in drywall for LED wafer lights and even if I never use it again, it may be the best money I've ever spent on a DIY project.
I spent a good 20+ minutes reading over the instructions and setting up the blades for my first cut because I'm meticulous. From reading the couple negative reviews, it sounds like they didn't set up the cutters correctly.
Now that I understand the tool, setting it up again would take just a few seconds.

At first I thought having the blades in opposite directions was odd (one sharp point closer to the center, the other sharp point away). Then I realized this is the most critical part for the tool to work well because it's cutting like a saw blade. Think about the teeth on a regular saw blade, every other tooth is pointed to the opposite side to remove enough material for the saw blade to fit inside the cut. This tool has to do the exact same thing with the cutting blades.
I uploaded a picture of what it looks like when the blades first start to make contact with the drywall- they cut an inside ring and an outside ring and the blades remove the material between them so they can plunge into the cut, this is exactly...
