I use for wood ceilings on our porches and Sheetrock interior ceilings. Where safety glasses an a mask the Sheetrock dust will choke you down. It can be very messy.

Capt. Art: Cut a clean hole in boat fiberglass

Alan H: Used to cut hole in 2x12" it cut the hole as desired but the teeth could have been more aggressive as it took a long time and you really had to push hard for it to cut. The 1.5" cutting depth was just barely able to do that, if the spindle was fully threaded into the hole saw it bottomed out before reaching the depth.

BrokenBroken: This is a pretty good hole saw. I love that it was reversible so I could run it backwards to help prevent it from getting bound up.
The description says it's for making a Cornhole game (implying wood) but lower down it says it can cut through plaster and metal. Seeing as I used it to cut holes in my plaster ceiling for recessed lighting that was what I was looking for. It worked well with minimal tear out on the backside (in my attic so I didn't care to try to do a perfectly clean job).
Some things you should know:
The hole states 6" which was good because many saws are actually 6 1/4" since that's common (especially for lights).
This one is actually just shy of 6", but only marginally so. The side stated 5 28/32" I think (since I've used the saw it's all scratched up and I can't read it any longer).
The major thing that I didn't see mentioned is that it's a 1/2" chuck size. So this won't fit in your typical drill. That's pretty major in my mind since I suspect most people only have a 1/4" drill. Thankfully I have another drill that could fit so I was good to go.
I've included a photo of the shank next to a standard 1/4" drill bit to make this...

klye: I bought this to cut a hole in 1/4" fiberglass and I wasn't able to finish cutting the 1st hole before the teeth were toast. This hole saw isn't designed for fiberglass though, so I can't expect too much. Seemed like a decent quality hole saw for the money though. I could see it working great for wood, PVC, and soft metals.
