Richard Thomas: Installing was easy enough that I could do it. Had to use a mirror to see what I was doing, but it worked fine.
The igniter works perfectly right from the start. I can not speak for the long term reliability just now, but if I remember to, I will update this review later to let you know how it goes.
Update:
Turns out I purchased the wrong item. I have a Mt. Vernon Pellet insert and this igniter blew up, shorted the GFI and blew a fuse on the main board behind the insert in less than one day. I had to have my local Quadrafire tech come out to troubleshoot and fix everything. I'm glad it was just the fuse so I didn't have to buy a new board! Just make sure you buy the correct part with the correct wattage.
