RubyScarlett: I always thought Purina was the "supermarket dog food" and therefore not very good. But my vet says it's the one with the most scientific health testing behind it and not just fancy marketing. My vet is a great animal hospital in practice for a long time, and I trust them. My puppies like it/love it, but they're Golden Retrievers and they'll eat anything.

Bernardka Vesel: The food I was feeding before, the pups were not eating very well. Switch to this food and they are eager eaters and clean the bowl fast. Their weight is great and I have notices improvement is skin and hair growth. I have this now on autoship.

Blkjag: My 125 LB Newfoundland has been eating this for 6 months. It was one of two foods that our breeder recommended to us. I notice our dog itched less when she ate this food than the other brand. I really like that they sell a 47 LB bag which is really needed for a giant breed dog. My only criticism would be that the kibble is a little small and I wish the bag was resealable.

J. BushJ. Bush: Every few months I have to purchase this from amazon to tide me over until my monthly Purina for Professionals order can come. I put my 9 week old Borzoi puppy on this as soon as I got him and he's done great. Due to his size/growth and to try and reduce risk of bloat, he is now 1 year old, 82 lbs, and gets fed about 6 times a day with 1.25 cups of dry and 1/4 - 1/2 can of the wet food version. He is doing well on it and will be on puppy food until at least 14 months perhaps until 2 years, it all depends on his growth/metabolism. Adult borzoi eat less but for most, higher calorie food to allow for the smallest volume possible is ideal to help try and prevent bloat in deep chested dogs.

Please note, as a veterinarian, I get asked about bloat a lot even though it's a bit less prevalent than it was 10-20 years ago. As of right now, the ONLY predisposing factor we have confirmed is genetics- if a parent or direct sibling bloats, there is a much higher likelihood of a particular dog suffering a similar occurrence.
