I use it on laundry all the time. It will clean oil from your clothes if you have been working with auto parts. It gets the soap scum off the glass shower door and bathtub. Catherine: As a mom of two kids, this is my go-to stain treatment during the first 6 months with a baby! I’ve had onesies that I thought were total goners after diaper blowouts, but after using Fels-Naptha on them, they washed as good as new. It’s also really good at getting blood stains out, whether a small spot after a vaccination, or bigger stains from a split lip, etc. At only $1.50, you really can’t find another stain treatment as effective and economical. It also doesn’t seem to be too harsh on a baby’s sensitive skin as we’ve never had any problems with that. Definitely recommend this as a laundry staple, or even as a gift to new parents.

Name unimportant: Fels Naptha soap has been around since 1893 for a reason: it works. I was buying bars to make my own laundry detergent using recipes available on the internet. Did that for a year and was very happy with the results and the low cost. The clothes came clean and smelled clean without any scent or odor. I stopped making my own detergent because it became too time consuming for me. Now I mostly use it for stain pre-treatment with a little water and a lot of rubbing. It's a great stain remover.

The internet will give you other uses for this versatile soap. My favorite is that it can prevent a poison ivy outbreak because it can wash off the urushiol oil that triggers the rash resulting from contact with the plant if you act quickly enough. Your search phrase is: "Fels Naptha poison ivy." It cleans and cures. What more could you ask for?

Joseph Stanley: I only recently came across Fels Naptha through a "subscribe & save" suggestion. It had a great price (being on sale) and gave it a go.

It changed my world!

I don't often use it a direct stain treatment (though it works well as such by simply wetting the bar and applying as you would a bar of soap).

I ALWAYS use it by way of the second suggested application. Using a knife, I shave off small pieces directly into the washer when loading my clothes, bedding, etc. The amount needed depends on the size of the load and soil level of the fabric.

I am frequently washing greasy, dirty and heavily soiled clothing from auto repairs and home maintenance, so I use a large amount. Roughly, 1/16th of the bar, shaved off in several, very thin slices.

Fels Naptha leaves everything cleaner, softer, brighter, and free of any and all unpleasant odors! (Men build up quite the stink working long hours under heavy labor! 😂)

I have never come across any fabric cleaner/additive that works so amazingly well! I don't always give praise like this, but when something so easy makes a hateful job (like washing clothes) do much easier, I have to give credit where...

TM ConwayTM Conway: My first thought about this was how inexpensive it is. I got it for that reason and to replace the other bar I had occasionally used. However, I am now really happy with this.

PROS:
1. This smells good and reminds me of the smell of laundry when I was younger. I don't know if my mother used this, but the smell is very familiar.
2. It "melts" easily with water so that I can work it into fabric stains. The other laundry bar I have used is a lot harder and I have to use a lot of elbow grease to work the soap into the clothing.
3. It's extremely versatile. I found one of those lists of ways to use this product and have already applied at least 3 of them. (I am not recommending anything to anyone but I rubbed the bar against my skin where I felt the beginning itch of a cold sore trying to start on my upper lip. No cold sore developed...). I have used this on a small carpet stain by applying and blotting the mark clean. I super-cleaned the metal of the kitchen faucet and sprayer where it gets all gross from the hard water marks.
