Inkling: Some inexpensive sources for 5-HTP have been reported recently as being unsafe, but I trust and recommend Pure Encapsulations - or at least my functional med MD does, and I trust him. One aspect of this product is that it seems to be completely consistent in its dosage - always the same reaction. Incredibly important when tweaking your neurotransmitters.

Jade: I was already taking L-tryptophan by superior supplements and that was well for a while. I made the move to go with 5- HTP and looked for a brand that was relatively pure. The supplement does the job. I will say that I knew that this supplement isn’t supposed to fix all the problems in our lives, granted I was hoping that it would increase the availability of the building blocks required for serotonin and other mood and reality outlook related hormones. Not a doctor, but like the rest of us I’d say that i’ve done a lot of research and I’m very careful about what I choose to put in my body as far as supplements go. I like the size of the supplement, it’s about 1/3 the size of a dime. About as thick as two dimes. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Idk wtf is a penname for...: I love this miracle pill! I was on Zoloft for 10 years and Lexapro for 8, and never felt as good as now, while being off antidepressants and just taking 50 mg of this drug in the morning!!! I wish someone told me about this supplement 20 years ago! It is worth every penny. I had side effects from Zoloft (severe chest pain around heart,which sent me to urgent care several times, and very emotional, could just start crying about something little), and Lexapro would make me muted to everything, good and bad, unable to focus sometimes, feel confused and forgetful, unable to think sharp at work! On top of other side effects of both drugs, I was still depressed most of the time, and unable to enjoy small things in life. I felt like something is wrong, I felt sick of everything! While being unemployed recently, I slipped into severe depression (while being on Zoloft 100mg, and later switched to Lexapro 20 mg). I didn't get much help from any of the drugs, decided to do my own research and found this supplement. Thanks to other people's good reviews! I've been taking just 50 mg in the morning for 2 weeks and already feel like a different person. I could not tolerate...
