I bought a smaller version of this previously for a small orange tree. I can easily take it on and off myself as the smaller mesh lets the net glide more easily over the tree. However, just about every stick, leave, or any other debris gets caught in it along the ground. But that's true of every similar product. The first one I bought is on it's second year and the only tears in it are ones I made with a Bowie knife because I couldn't extract the stakes (until I decided to grind the heads off them and hang them like tree ornaments off the net for weight). The material is durable, remains soft, even after being in the Arizona sun for months, and isn't hard to work with. However, the 50x50 footer was a bit much for one guy with a ladder.... so I had someone else put it on. Took them only a few minutes by using extension poles, a guy on each side, and one to pull the middle over.

the netting size was more like 10 x 14...
had to use 2 on 1 tree..
on the positive side, the netting does a great job of keeping birds away....

UPDATE: I'm liking this bird/squirrel netting more and more as I'm using it. Yes, it was quite the pain to cut to size for our purposes, but in use, it's great! The stretchiness and durability of the cording works well. Even though we have it draped over some metal t-posts which do have some sharp edges on top, the netting is holding up well and the threads aren't being cut. I am using 6" metal landscaping staples which I bought separately to secure the netting to the ground. No critters are getting in, and I'm harvesting an outstanding crop of organic blueberries! Yummmm!
PREVIOUS REVIEW: This fish net style of bird netting was difficult to use for our purposes. If you're planning on keeping it whole and not cutting it up into smaller sections to use in different parts of your garden, then I'm sure that it would be fine. However, I wanted to cut it up, and found it very difficult to spread out evenly on the lawn so that I could measure it. It's very stretchy, and is made of nylon string, instead of the more rigid plastic that I've used before. The plastic netting which has little squares is much easier to cut in a straight line. And the moment I took the netting out of the package, I was impressed. I had purchased netting for my garden before that was an absolute mess to handle and keep untangled while laying it out on the garden.
The netting is silky smooth, and the manufacturer took extra care to make it easy to manage coming out of its bag. The 25‘ x 25‘ net was tied in large knots in three places of the netting. The knots were easy to untie, and this setup helped me to lay the netting out on the garden quite easily.
As you can see from my pictures, I used the netting to keep cover my large container garden, also using Super Hoops from Gardener’s Supply company. I have been fighting a battle with red squirrels since May, using a summer weight garden fabric, but this netting will allow me to not have to remove the cover from my plants everyday to get sun.
The netting did not even get caught on my tomato trellises when I put it on. My garden is 12’ x 15’ and I have a little bit of net left on one end that I will eventually cut off and use to cover some plants in another location of the yard.
