Ed Parry: These are so well made it's hard to believe. I love the fact that they have a 10-year battery in them. I not only replaced existing units but I had a spare so I put one in the kitchen just to be safe as well. Installed so easily and everything's included. You don't need to have a wall power line. You just drill and install if you need it on your ceiling. And I tested them they work fantastic. I test them at regular intervals and I won't have to replace them for 10 years? That's fantastic. Believe it or not the old ones I replace were dated 2005 and 2008. Ridiculous. These will also warn you and chirp you I believe when the battery's about to die so you have time to buy replacements. These are very high quality and I highly recommend them. A++

Zoe: We had some construction at our house and one of the new fire codes is the requirement for linked fire/smoke and CO2 detectors. I honestly thought for sure I would put them up where the City Code inspectors required and then take them down because they wouldn’t actually work (I mean the price would indicate that they would sorta work). But last weekend after leaving them up for a couple of months I thought I am going to try them out. So I made some smoke (blew out a candle with a pretty long wick against some paper — it was pretty smokie) and all three did what they were supposed to do. Set off upstairs and in our basement the other alarm went off. They did what they were supposed to do. Glad I didn’t just appease the inspector and put them up and take them down.
Safety first.
Should there be any kind of incident with Smoke/Fire or CO2 in our home, I know that these alarms will work and notify us anywhere we are in the house.
Again… safety first.
